Imo, the darksword is not "overpowered". It is VERY good against certain monsters that are incredibly annoying. If it wasn't for the darksword I would never do ms_wicardoven ever ever again (since I have everything there). Maldora is just too annoying with his jumpy b*tch (see: ut) tactics for me to tolerate getting in one hit at a time with anything other than a big damage, low missrate attack. Likewise, runeghar does the same unnecessary jumping crap that just gets so annoying, the only good way to beat him is one hit at a time between jumps. On top of that, you're risking taking insane amounts of armor piercing (bug?) damage by the tornadoes he spawns if you stand too close for too long.

If I thought something was bugged, or doing something that didn't seem right I'd tell you. I don't see the point in playing a broken game. The dark sword is well balanced and useful for annoying boss encounters. Maybe in the future you'll figure out a way to make harder bosses more resistant to it or able to fight around it (tractor beam on all players so they can't run to charge?) but for now its basically the key to fighting those tougher bosses.

That being said, it doesn't sound like your initial thought was to destroy this obviously beloved weapon, but I still feel the need to defend it in case you think to do so.

I think the problem is that it is too good of a hit and run weapon. Yeah, it takes forever to charge, but so what? The charging process does not hinder movement, so while you're taking your time charging, you can be bhopping around the room, getting healed/ice shielded, or not even be in the room at all! Sure, you can do more damage with, say, GiB in the amount of time, but GiB requires constantly being in the monster's face.

It does hinder movement for a little bit, just thought I'd point that out ;)
Even so, we already have a rapid attack sword in the Torkalath Blade, we don't need two...

There are ways around the initial movement-hindering, but I'm not going to toss out game secrets (though most people already know it)

Torkalath Blade was nerfed. We need a machine gun blade...

Ah, like this.

Replace .38 with MAC10, then roll with the Westsiyeed and have epic drive-bys.
Atholo got nothin' now, and now you'll have to nerf the MAC10Blade :p

Photoshopped. You can tell from the pixels and from the fact that noone has attached a sword to a submachine gun. On that note, that's a SUB machine gun. We need a Rambo sword ;-)

The M249GunBlade. Ideal for killing time-traveling sorceresses, or making people believe you write books.

Sometimes blood axe doesnt give you hp
Against any particular creature or in any particular situation? I think there might be one or two creatures not using the base AI that don't return their damage taken proper, they might buggar that way.

YOU DONT GOT TIME TO MAKE A PROFILE
2 problems here...

Firstly, I can't get into wicardoven, missing blackrockgibs model. Tried a full reinstall, also tried renaming some random model so that it at least sees I have it, but it turned out I did already have it. treid to open it with jebs and it got an error. so i deleted it and renamed some random model like i was going to. Nothing works.

Secondly, I don't seem to be gaining exp from physical weapons. This has been tested to the extent of I killed something with my dagger and it said "You have slain whatever" but no "You gain exp" message. I look at my stats and small arms didnt go up anywhere. Same thing with for my GiB

Tried magic and it works fine.

/shrug

Also, how do I turn of VAC agian -_- i can't test my bloody map

Don't you just add "-secure" (without the quotes) to the set launch options for msc?

It’s part of the full installer. If yer still getting the error after a reboot and reinstall (shutdown steam inbetween) then I’ve no clue. :/

This is again with the having of the no clue – I’ve never seen this, and are not seeing it now. I’ve not tried loading in your specific character though.

Not that I haven’t ceased to give a shit, but it maybe a client<->server difference in the sc.dll if yer FEB2008a/b and the server is the other.

Btw, Thothie, on the DS. I tried "methods" (figure it out), and couldn't get the last charge to fire. The second to last worked fine, but nothing from the last (no console message, either. Man those get annoying :p)

The final charge works fine on my test character at swordsmanship 30 even, so long as the DLL's match up, so *shrug*

Ah, perhaps it's the DLLs, then. (Not trying to sound mean) I thought it said server side only, so I didn't bother getting it =\
