Wait, so if you 2-man any map that relies on artifact chests or individualized chests to dish out a reward, one guy always gets shafted, even if they did say, 49% of the damage?

Ouch.

*Waits for JM to be burnt at the stake for inspiring this change*

49% of the damage is still in the top 75%. He'd have to do less than 25% of the damage to be disqualified.

In this case, we've got a player with under 400hp being escorted through ms_snow by a player who, presumably, has quite a bit more, so it maybe that the lesser player could be doing less than 25% of the work. However, the lesser player still raises the spawn chances, and the winning player could still "hand-me-down" items resulting from the Arti-chest, I suppose.

If the lesser player is sustaining the better player with heal and shield spells, however, his damage points will climb very rapidly.

Ah, I see.

I thought that it was based on listpoints rank rather than damage total %, leaving at least one player out in a 2+ player game.

Example:

2 players

Player X has 100 total points
Player Y has 99 total points

Lower quartile would be 99 in this case. (>=25%)

How does healing a player count for damage points?

Do summons doing damage also count towards damage points?

I think that ice shielding gives 500 points.

Healing only gives points if your heal actually does anything.

Summons do not count.

It's based on total damage points (averaged), rather than rank position, yes. So 49% still qualifies you.

Players gain bonus damage points for aiding other players. Healing another player is worth 50+Damage_Healed dmg points per cast. Ice Shielding (or Lesser Ice Shielding) another player is worth 500 dmg points. Sustaining a Healing Circle is worth 50dmg points/second another player is being healed within. These bonuses also apply when aiding critical NPCs.

Summons are not currently worth any bonus points, nor is the damage they do, nor is casting spells on them. Tis something to look into though.
