We covered this already... Again, already checked the archives, cannot find where the code is for it. And again, dream elf never had that advantage. Battle has never changed, save maybe a bit easier, thanks to the introduction of more valid repulse items. Bandit battle isn't nearly so spammy, and they aren't stationary, so yer better off with the rejuv boost than you would be with the HC and the old rejuv, again, unless your divination is over 100.

The only other battles where that'd be more useful than the 10% rejuv min are old_helena and foutpost, both of which have been completed, literally, hundreds of time without it, and where it'd be completely OP anyways (on old_helena you'd be healing nearly maxhp every 0.5 seconds!).

Also totally off topic. :p

Just tried to re-install, used the dec installer then sep patch but when I try to connect to a server that is running the lastest patch my clinet still differs.

Oh, hey, that's the jon I was talking about in the music thread. Do you by chance remember who wrote the boss music for your eye of zyogli map? I recall you telling me a long time ago that someone on the forums wrote it for you.

Well, still no new patch... But while you're waiting (for those few of you who have held on), we do have something:

Underpath by the TheOysterHippopotami

The old tradeway between Gate City and the Underkeep has been overrun by hordes of migrating goblins and ogres... Can you explore these depths and open the way to re-uniting these two dwarven civilizations?

Underpath is a map of self adjusting difficulty running the gambit from about 25-45 (~500-1500hp) consisting of a complex network of caves and chambers full of goblins, ogres, and other horrors, as well as untold lost treasures.

The map should auto-download, relatively quickly, from RKS servers, but for those of you hosting, here's the link:

PS. If your graphics card isn't rendering those cave ogres properly, as pictured above (if, for instance, the green/blue bits come up missing), please post your graphics card make and model. Seems some cards are having issues with mix-rendered models in OpenGL, and it'd be good to know which libraries are involved.

As I said elsewhere, was hoping for a New Years patch, in the form of a new full installer, but I just can't bare the thought of doing a release with no new maps (especially with so many fine ones in the pipe, even if I'm not allowed to touch most of them), so we're on hold until that end of things is taken care of, even if it turns out I gotta do it myself.

Not that there aren't a few other critical features that need adding that don't involve new maps, but it's so much easier to slack off when I can lay the blame on others. ;)

For folks not slacking - MiB worked his butt off through the year's end with some massive optimizations and a slew of fixes and features, including a new inventory display system that he's currently working on. He may figure out the GUI in the process, which will open up all sorts of new possibilities, if he can also make it scriptable. He also worked up a system where we can get a secure date/time from FN, and thus we maybe able to add special holiday events and the like that actually give you stuff, as well as finally roll out that dynamic quest system I keep ranting about.

Other discoveries also helped us overcome the last of the hurdles to adding a dwarf race - which, we probably wont be seeing in the next patch, but if all goes well, should be in not too long afterwards. Hopefully will feature an all new leveling system and sphere of magic.

Even as it stands now, the changelog is nearly 500 lines - tempted to spoiler it, but meh, hang in there just a bit longer, I suppose.

Might have been better off decompiling the sprite in msc\sprites\items\640_allitems.spr. Granted, that sprite is, kinda custom, might not decompile easily.

I've... seen some sh!t. Just saw some stuff I haven't seen before, or have seen, just not in MS:C.
Incidently, will we ever see the return of the Orion sword, or the... Uhh.. Thingy.

I wonder the samething, i guess the "cross axe" was discarded content or still waiting on the day to see the daylight. Just like dem mage gloves or w/e.

The Orion weapons and armor were originally dev items that basically provided god mode, back in the early days of MS, think they were axed before MS 1.3. Still have the models - though the armor looks god-awful.

The Orion sword model itself is just a reskin of the Spider Blade and doesn't look like much of anything. Do need more swords, atm, but have a lot of prettier OC models to work with.

And oh dat axe... Looks awful, but might do something with it in the future. I think it's actually in the weapon models under the SEP2013 build, though it'll be removed from the next patch, as we're trying to save some unused texture data.

Did want to do something, non-MA related, with the mage gloves, after tweaking the skin a bit, but it's complicated, and I don't think they are rigged right for either of the current hand/arm models, which causes some conversion issues.

Incidently, why not find someone to rig up those hands, or better yet, answer a question i've had for a while.

Gloves would be difficult to add to MS:C (as armor). Would this just be due to Gldsrc capacity, or would it be due to something else.
The gloves could be easily made and replace the player hands, then you wouldn't need to make new arms based on what armor you're wearing, just change the player hands.

(Although, now I'm thinking about it. You'd need to re-attach all the hand models for various gloves to weapons, right?)

No, this is the Orion Armor:

As for gloves, sadly, I canna add or remove wear slots from characters without causing corruption, so the issue is more on the character data side than the modeling. Am hoping to add the various armor's gloves to the viewmodel, so that the arms will just match up with whatever armor you might be wearing, but some of the viewmodel's arrangements make that tricky - in addition to needing some modeler to do it proper.

That armour looks god damn beautiful. Really.

I guess that can be my first stage. Depending on what's easier to begin with.
- Player hands w/ armor
- Child model(s)

Edit: methinks I can knock the hands out as soon as I start properly working on it. What's that. A few model variations for hands/weapon holding. And then the textures?
