It's hard to believe someone went imposter like on you with no reasons, and its hard to believe that this imposter would have known all these steam id's in order to do these requests, so i would still like to know what's going on basically.

So basically you used 2 steam id's on the boards, i do believe 1 belongs to your main account and the other to your backup account. Thing is, are you trying to hide something from us with all these excuses?

Ps: i know i said i was going to walk away, but i got too curious while i learned about new things related to this problem.

My steam account was taken right before this happened. I added the guy and talked to him, he just said I was screwed. Maybe the reason he did this was to get me into trouble. If you need proof that my account was stolen, add the account name "ssidreaper". The backup account i use is "halflife909". I also have another account which I used for Half-Life 2 games which is "spanky1000". I really don't know what else to do.

STEAM_IDs on all your accounts or the story is meaningless.

Edit: Actually, your story makes no sense. Madman200 steals Salina's characters by means of abusing the character transfer service. The characters are directed to STEAM_0:1:3494382, which is a Steam account you claim you own. A few posts later you post something really vague, but you more or less ask for 'help' with the same Steam account; STEAM_0:1:3494382.

I'd like a moderator to check the IPs on "Madman200" and "franky200". See if they match. Thothie? Blasto121?

So can you try to explain what happened, in full detail, from your point of view, what's going on? Every little detail there is, basically. When did your Steam account get hijacked, why would someone want to transfer Salina's characters to your new account, etc.

It started when i seemed to of could not log on to my steam account, I checked to make sure i was correct typing every little password i remember. So i go onto my account and add my account to see whats going on. The name is "testchamber 01238-1902634". I start talking to him after he accepts my friend request. I asked what the hell was going on, he replied saying a bunch of bullshit about how hes stole my account and saying I'm screwed. This happened around the beginning of August or the middle/end of July. After coming back to download MSC to play with my friend Rideon. I come request a transfer of my character to my backup. After playing for like 2 days I come online and see that Salina is claiming that I stole his/her character. Later on Rideon tells me that someone is in the server with my name. I quickly launch up my game to see that Salina is using my character. I was thinking maybe Thothie made a mistake and transferred mine thinking it was Salina's. I tell her to get off it until we settle something out. He/she says "no this is my character u stole it". I noticed Salina was a 33 shield warrior(My current level.) I ask Salina whole bunch of questions, turns out he/she is actually on my character. I was mad as hell. So i scrambled on the forums and PM Thothie about it and come to this thread. I explain that Salina claims it's not his/hers but mine, even though he/she still refuses his/her level is actually below her real character( Msyeria ). So i try to explain it to everyone on this thread and here i am. :roll:

You claim you own STEAM_0:1:20268963.
This STEAM_ID happens to be in my list and the character "Frank" corresponds to it, so I agree.

You claim someone stole the Steam account tied to STEAM_0:1:20268963 - which is named "ssidreaper" and that this person who stole it changed your Steam Friends name to "testchamber 01238-1902634".
I added "ssidreaper" to Steam Friends and although he hasn't accepted me yet, I can see that his Steam Friends name is "testchamber 01238-1902834-". OK, you got the name almost flawlessly. Close enough. So yeah, the Steam Friends name of STEAM_0:1:20268963 got changed, I'll agree on that. I'm still skeptical about your Steam account being stolen, though.

Then you say that your Steam account was stolen somewhere around July/August.
So I downloaded the latest [FN] archive five minutes ago, and it looks like character slots 1, 2 and 3 of your stolen Steam account were last modified on the third of October, the fifth of September and the third of October, respectively. That's at least a month later. I find it hard to believe that the person who stole your Steam account also has MS:C.

Care to explain this part, before I even bother reading the rest...?

The areas around the time are a bit spaced out. It seems that he has not done anything to my character, Only Thothie moved it around and such around that time period.

A guy steals your Steam account, yet a MONTH later your [FN] characters are somehow altered. How? I refuse to believe that a random Steam account thief has MS:C installed.

You don't get what I'm trying to say, I said that that is the date i requested a transfer to my backup. Then Salina complained and Thothie messed up and sent mine to Salina's acccount.

No, you are not getting the point.
A Steam account is tied to [FN] characters. This means your characters can only be accessed by the person who owns the Steam account. Your characters were last accessed after your Steam account was stolen. Explain me how?

Did you post this request in the boards? If so, where?

After playing for like 2 days I come online and see that Salina is claiming that I stole his/her character.

Online where? In the boards or in-game? And did you hear these claims in the boards or in-game? Did you hear them from Salina herself?
Also, just for the record, I'm pretty sure that Salina has always claimed that not you, but Madman200 stole her characters. At least that's what she's been consistently saying in the boards. And you claim you're not Madman200, so she's not pointing fingers at you.

Thothie would only make such an unlikely mistake if he got the wrong STEAM_ID from a post like, for example, this one.

I actually checked the characters tied to the STEAM_IDs of your current Steam account, your stolen Steam account and Salina's Steam account and I found this:

Unfortunately there's very few people with access to the [FN] archives (not that I blame Blasto121 for that), so people will just have to assume that I didn't edit the files.
What I instantly noticed is:

• Both sets of the three characters on your stolen and current Steam accounts are identical. The names are "Combine Shotgunner", "Ihotohr" and "Frank" for slots 1, 2 and 3 respectively. Based on the filesizes and dates of last modification I am going to assume that their inventories are also identical (I was too lazy to check).
• The three characters on Salina's Steam account are named "Combine Shotgunner", "Ihotohr" and "Vella". Based on the filesizes and dates of last modification I am willing to believe that the slot 2 character, "Ihotohr", is 100% identical for all three Steam accounts.

So what I can only conclude from this is:
1) Salina's characters got overwritten by your characters. Whatever happened afterwards (is she happy with it or is she not) I do not know. You claim she's happy with it (because she wants to keep the characters, or so you say) but I don't think she's happy with it, because she's trying to get her characters back by posting in this thread.
2) You can access your characters. Right now. Why don't you try it? And what's the big deal if you can access your characters anyway? What is the problem, except for the part where someone else also has your characters because of what I can only assume was a mistake?

I hope my questions are easy. I sure tried my best, seeing as how I had to ask my previous question three times (1, 2, 3) before you even answered it.
There will be an essay on tuesday regarding this.

1. I Pm'd Thothie about it,

2. Both on the forums and ingame with Salina.
2.5. Salina said when i added him/her on my friends list to discuss it, Salina told me that i took her char and said leave me alone.

3. I guess its because right after i requested a transfer, almost at the same time Salina complained. Right after Salina made a post about it, Thoth must have got something mixed up, I don't know.

4. Last i checked I did not have it, I will check now to see.

5. Sorry, I have a headache from all this nonsense.

No i am not happy Franky200 i would prefer my char back i do notice i have lost 2 stats i had on my char which was hard work ... so no i am not happy i would just like a roll back to august the 12th when he hijacked my chars ... which now seem to have been deleted like you said! ... i have requested a roll back in roll backs forum
and maybe it will be requested if that is possible after 3 months practically?

I am not happy its just got so messy and not good that people can do this ...
Just wish it was not so easy to move someones char so easily...

Msc is a wonderful game full of fun and mischief and i have loved it since ms the original..

Kinda leaning towards rolling you both back to August 12th or some such (before whoever Madman maybe started this). I'll let J-M finish his investigation though.

Having a bit of trouble figuring how STEAM_0:1:20268963 got caught up in this mess though. Are you just missing one character from that account? Maybe it's unrelated.

Well Frank, it looks like you're actually telling the truth.
Sorry for all the suspicion from me again. Your story just appeared to be full of holes. You really aren't Madman200. I still don't know why you and Salina keep accusing each other of stuff (also talking to you now, Salina ) because it seems fairly obvious you both want your own characters back.

I've suggested that Thothie roll you both back to the day before this all happened. He already figured that out, by the way. So just a few hours patience (or maybe a few minutes actually) and Thothie will sort it out.

STEAM_0-0-12273683, STEAM_0-1-3494382, and STEAM_0-1-20268963 have all been rolled back to the morn of August 12th.

If anything like this ever happens again, we're going to have to work some sort of security into character transfer requests - or worse, add passwords to characters.
