Decorative Armor < Suit of Platemail < Full Knight Armor < Sir Geric's Armor < Lord Vecilus' Mail

Assuming you're not taking weight into account.

Lord Vecilus' Mail

eh?

The "Cat Piss Armor of Dewm" - as I like to call it. Only run into two players who have it though.

It's much heavier than DA, provides a smidgen more protection, and smells like cat-piss instead of Sir Geric. ;)

Well, I've been playing around with some armour to find out the exact absorbtion rates.

I know for a fact that
A suit of platemail absorbs 40% damage,
Full Knight's Armour absorbs 42.8% (3/7)
Dark Armour (if it still exists) absorbs 50%

I'm still trying to figure out how much Sir Geric's armour absorbs, though I think it's in between knights and dark.

Also, does mongol armour still exist?

Dun do spoilers like this normally, but I'm in a mood... Plus I was actually considering writing a script to grab the weapons' statistics...

Armor:
Type Prot% + Weight
Torn Leather 5% + 12lbs
Leather 12% + 12lbs
Studded Leather 23% + 28lbs
Decorative Armour / Mongol 28% + 130lbs
Platemail 40% + 90lbs
Knights 50% + 210lbs
Dark Armor (Sir Geric's) 50% + 120lbs
Gold Armor (Lord Vecilus') 55% + 210lbs

Hats:
Type StunProt% + Weight
Decorated 20% + 20lbs
Platemail 20% + 15lbs
Knights 25% + 40lbs
Dark 30% + 5lbs
Gold 35% + 20lbs

So basicly you're saying that the golden armor protects 5% more but weighs about 57% more than dark armor.

And golden helmet also protects 5% and ways 4 times the dark helmets weight.

Isn't that a bit unbalanced somehow? I'd prefer the dark set unless I had like 80 STR.

no, its a 300% weight increase...blasphemy >: O

of course, a golden helmet wouldn't provide much protection at all really, gold is really soft (for a metal anyways)

Doesn't weight increase due to STR stop around 16 or 17 STR though? As i've been getting the STR, but my weight won't increase at all anymore.

If by weight, you mean how much weight you can carry, I'm pretty sure it still goes up, but it may not be as noticable.

It does and will... But the difference between 16 and 17 is pretty insignificant.

But I've had my weight full for a while, and it hasn't moved from the end from 16 to 21 strength. It's always stopped somewhere around 16ish, even back in 1.3

Might have to drop your stuff and re-equip, I dunno... I do know my test char (Lvl39/650hp) can carry GA&Hat+Bow+Xbow+DarkMaul+RavenMace+TorkieBlade - while my FN character (Lvl24/450hp) can carry GA&Hat+... a feather or two.

How about we do some quick value testing, set a character to 20 STR, load him up until he can't carry anything more at all, then set his STR to 40, and see if anything changes

Easier said than done but... In the interest of science...

I discovered at level 20 STR the freshly made weight test char could pick up 3 Dark Mauls (being the heaviest weapon in game, I think, plus a weapon strap to hold them in.)

At 30 STR he could pick up the same.

At 40 STR he could pick up 4 Dark Mauls.

Granted, the method I was using to level the character left him with no Parry skill, and his Fitness never went above 17. My usual test character has STR 58 and Fitness 37 and can pick up 5 Dark Mauls WITH his Gold Armor on.

There's definately some sort of bump in the ramp in there, but it does increase eventually. I'm not sure if STR is the only factor.

Well, I guess that still means that there's either something wrong with the code to determine how much you can carry, or that somebody thought it would be funny to see us people going from 16ish STR to 30ish STR squirm.

Yea I also think there is something wrong. But with no one dedicated to work on the hard code, hard code doesnt compile right and hard code was very disorganized, we are bound to have something wrong.
