This sword looks like a good way to develop a future economy. We need more low-mid level weapons that have no special abilities and are for sale. A new skin can't hurt though.

Sorry for stealing it, Thoth!
Do we really need another sword? Really?

Let's start by getting rid of gold altogether and just make swords the currency.
What I'm saying is put modeling efforts into something other than a sword. Please!

Shadeska said:1. CMD didn't need to immediately begin dumping on your work as a novice modeler.
What do you mean it won't work? What happens when you try to do it?Stoned said:The way I did it Barnum is if I removed that line of vertexes and tried making it into a blade, it wouldnt work.
Thats nice and all, but all I am saying is that you can get the exact look for your sword, with everything I suggested.Stoned said:Plus, the poly count isnt even that high :/ I think it was only like 900 or so. I think skullblade might have more polys than that :|
Why? There are so many tools at your disposal that does everything for you so you don't have to waste time and put every vertex in.Stoned said:And the blade was actually done manually, layed out the vertexes one by one and did that later.
FER said:Actually the skullblade has half the amount of polygons while having similar quality. Trust him, cylinders do stack up a lot of polys so PLEASE keep that in mind.
Swords are very easy to do because any simple shape can be turned into part of it:
-A squashed small cylinder can make the part that connects the blade and the handle (check the hoarfrost for an example)
-another cylinder with only 4 sides can be used for the blade itself, and would have saved you from the pain of doing it manually.

Please don't take what I say the wrong way. Your model looks great, I am just trying to help you become a better modeler. When you have to cut down on polys, or make a section quickly without laying down vertices everywhere.

Make the shield, armor, knife, bow, anything else to go along with that sword.

Wait what
P|Barnum said:In any case, if you are going to slap your name on the models/sets and call it original, it better be original.
