Source object scaling

I have tried to use the mass scaler and the scale factor for inertia but they don't effect the size of the model.

I'm assuming you're talking about scaling models in Hammer. This is impossible, Hammer is basically too primitive for that.
The only way to rescale models is by recompiling them, but I don't know how to do that modeling mumbo-jumbo.

Ah, I'd prefer to have a small barrel (the one I have currently got) and a large barrel.

If you're just using hammer, last I checked you can't change the size of models with it. You have to change the size in a modelling program and recompile it.

Solid Shadow rescaled it for me, it only just fitted but it will do. Thanks.

I use Maya for modelling, texturing and 3ds Max for rigging and exporting to HL2.
