RKS runs the FN server, so while RKS is down, so is FN. Downtime is expected to extend to one week from this post date.

I could setup a temporary FN based on the last FN archive, but seeing as how everyone would lose a days progress or so, and that RKS makes up the vast majority of FN servers anyways, I suppose there wouldn't be much point to it. I didn't really get home in time to grab the latest FN archives and setup a backup plan.

I dunno how many folks we're going to lose during MSC's downtime. I don't really have a major release lined up to bring them back either. :/

Re: RKS Down = FN Down

FN will be online tonight!

FN's downtime is not due to the server being replaced, FN server will be replaced next month. It's due to changes to the network setup, which is expected to be finished by my host around 12PM EDT, 4PM at the latest.

Re: RKS Down = FN Down

At least it's not a week worth of downtime. I tried to minimize FN downtime the best I can. When the FN server changes next month, all people have to do is change the IP adddresses. The servers for FN will be provisioned before it is shut down, so the downtime would be the time it takes people to change the IP addresses.

Edit
you should have access to it in a few hours.

They just finally figured out what's wrong and fixed it. Server is up now.

It's still down to me, even though I can ping the ip address of the fn server. My server connects to port 5711. Is it still on the same ip address as before?

@cartman
FN server on port 5709 (which i am assuming is the one you're using) is spamming Bad Password on IP 24.20.151.166.
If that's your server, please verify your password.

Re: RKS Down = FN Down

It is, I tried one of the other ports to see if I could connect and forgot to set it back, but it still doesn't connect on 5711.

was port 5711 added to the firewall as it shows as closed in nmap(port scan) on my linux box, the other 3 are open.

Re: RKS Down = FN Down

Hmm...
I can't see the FN5711 port boards on this forums since I dont have access to it.
But then while the server was down, it was only a problem at a gateway, the server itself stayed online.
I think some of the ports got closed down when the network went down. I will try restarting the FN servers.
I dont exactly have a way to test it now since all my MSC servers are offline.
Let me know how it goes.

Works on my server.

Might have went down for a while since.
I just decided to restart the entire server.
It was up for months straight. Should get rid of the port quriks it was having.

Re: RKS Down = FN Down

I have got a connection now...

I notice ye be leaving the Task Manager running, which might be causing issues - with it out-prioritizing the FN servers. I change the priority on it and left it open for ya.

I notice only the 5711 currently has activity though, which may not be a good sign.

Re: RKS Down = FN Down

I have no idea who's servers are on the different ports, but if my memory serves me correct, 5712 had so few connection attempts that it was pretty much empty sometimes for days before the first activity appeared on it. I once thought it was glitched that I restarted it, did a port check, ran a bunch of diagnostics, etc. It wasn't until I changed one of my servers to connect to it when I realized it was working correctly.

Fack, can't believe all the good ping servers for my location are now gone... Don't like the idea of playing with ~350 ping :|

I have a couple servers running, which use port 5711, I don't know what port the hell's diner server uses, might be the same one.

All 4 fn ports are still open by what nmap says so people with servers should still be able to connect to fn ports.
