and before i waste anytime on a claw weapon will it be implemented if i made one?

*cough* All that one needs is a player/world model.

How soon things will get implemented depends on how soon the model consolidation gets done. Gaz is off building rats, and Orochi is off building scythes, so...

Bloodrose is nearing completetion, so that elf we were supposed to have about six months ago is getting rather critical.

P|Barnum STILL hasn't given us his viewmodels, so I'm removing his new weapons from the item list to save model space. I'll put any claws you make in their place, assuming your viewmodels aren't fubarbed too.

Need that uber-sword translated to a mdl file still.

I know I've a thousand other things that need doing, and I'd make another task list and send it out - but they tend to get ignored. Modeler's are true artists, they can't be told what to do - they just do whatever they feel like. ;)

I'm not off building scythes. It was something I whipped up on a whim. And I am getting stuff done, but some of it just will not work, so I must try and think of ways around it since you are not right there to ask. The list you have given me is very thorough, but some of the stuff on it cannot be done, lest certain models not behave properly.

maybe you should be a bit more harsh. Send them a PM, and tell them you are serious.
Or maybe some system which doesnt allow them to creates topics until they finish their actuall work

I just finished fixing belmont's viewmodels within 8 minutes. I'm working on shit as we speak.

I'll try to get something together by tomorrow... Seems the last three lists I sent out have fallen by the wayside. (Again, I kinda gave up maintaining them a few months back.)

Sadly, I lost the last work detail that I gave Orochi (didn't take much care of it, as soon as I realized he was going to completely ignore it), so I know I'm forgetting a bunch of stuff when I give ya this, but:

Models needed:

A paper, like this
paypah.jpg
Same proportions.

But beware that you don't wind up unreadable, by making a tiny paper at the bottom like so:

Elven Wizard/Warrior:
Even Good/Evil male/female Elven wizards and warriors.

One fancy civilian (high elf) maybe handy, but not critical atm.

A King:
Need a human who doesn't have sh*t all over him. If you can arrange a crown, or a sword given to him by a watery tart, that'd be good too. Some aristocratic escort wouldn't hurt none either.

Armored Trolls:
Trolls with a bunch of armor on them via submodel, and separate submodel for skins with tattoos. (Note: Scripts only deal with submodels, not skins, so any skins must also be in a submodel set - keep skins and armor in separate submodel sets so can mix&match, see msc/models/monsters/orc.mdl for example)

Armor:
Could use some thicker style armor that might defeat the armor display bug.

Higher Res Skin Spiders - If you can "unwrap" the skin from the spider, and re-attach a higher res skin, we could make those 'furry' wooly spiders the two snow mappers keep asking for.

Envenomed/Diseased/Vampyric Gauntlets: Evil gauntlets with lengthy vicious spikes going forward well passed the hand. These can project from the wrist, or be attached to the gauntlet's side. Also need lightning/cold gauntlets, but those are pure skin jobs.

Handedness - Various player models using the MS1.35 scheme are buggard (wtf they changed handedness, I've no idea). They include, as noted, the lostblade, lesser ice blade, amongst others. Basically all the 1.35 carry-overs (I'll have to make a list sometime)

Quarter Staff - Not a high priority, but be an interesting add. Via model provided, quite a few anims would be nice. Crazy Bruce Lee moves are fine. Spinning loop particularly nice (may use to block/reduce damage and special atks on later variants). Don't expect any help from the player anims though, lest you plan to alter reference.mdl.
base quarterstaff model

New Longsword Base Anims - One issue is the sword seems to drop out of the view pane for far too long. Also, it might help with the thrust timing, if I can get an event 600 "sword_thrust" on the frame where the sword thrusts the most outward. That way I maybe able to fix the script so the hit takes place on the thrust, rather than when the player raises the blade. (Plus that thrust animation looks wrist-breakingly painful.)

Additional Anims for Skeletons - Additional anims for Skeleton1.mdl, skeleton2.mdl, skeleton3.mdl, and skeleton_hooded.mdl would all be handy. Moving them to the scientist/player boneset would also be good, if you can port their shambly movements over.


I know I'm forgetting a bunch of stuff, plus there's that whole future_materials folder to send you, if you really get serious, but this'll do for now.


oh and...dappa kinda disappeared on me, so if you guys want to bother him - feel free ;)

Yes, thank you for posting that completely dated list... WTF did you get that anyways?

The letter does need improvement - but the concept has kinda gone to bunk, as it sucks to add to the item limit just for maps and letters. It'll be worth it, if we can figure how to get viewmodels consolidated.

I *think* Orochi fixed all the handedness issues a month or so ago, I'm not sure. I also think he is working on additional anims for skeletons, although I've not seen exactally what he's cooking up, as he's always doing new stuff.

Gotta bunch of stuff aside from that to add to that list.

For that letter - Could you make it have the typical scroll page in the inventory, but when you bring it out it forces the player to "read" it aloud in 'u' chat? It'd work just as well and not bugger up the item limit

New animations boss skeletons are done, just need to put in a compatible unarmed animation for the gold-forged skeletons.

Looks a lot like the earthfire blade from Dark Messiah, if that blade was converted to a lower engine & made crooked...

Albeit, I love forging that fire-sword in Dark Messiah, since it is effective against pretty much everything 8)

pretty much...if you make anything that remotely resembles anything else, people will say "that looks like X" and if you come up with something completely unique - people will say it sucks.
