That reminds me - I've got to update this thread again with those cute cuddly demon rapist eagles.
Also, I basically just figured out that a "fire reaver" and "dragonfly queen" exist, but I've never seen any post about them in any betapack updates.

Thothie, what are their scripts, and are there more 'big' monsters I missed? I don't really care if this list doesn't include alias #4, #5 or #3040 for the Timidus Textor, but entirely new monsters (such as the fire reaver) should be in my list.

monsters/fire_reaver is in the current changelog, along with all the new birds. monsters/dragonfly_queen does not function yet, I don't think (not sure, but I've not tested, and nothing's ever worked the first time in this game). You might be missing some stuff, but it'd take me quite a bit of time to figure what that might be.

That post was made before Aleyesu was completed. There's also one on mscave, but you need a fairly large party to flush it out.

I dunno if the greater elementals made it into Aleyesu, or if he went with the Lightning Djinn and the Fire Reaver - or all of the above - I've yet to do a full run on the current version. They are in the changelog, in anycase.

Today I was confronted again with the horrible fact that I haven't updated this list since the 8th of June, 2008.
The reason why I haven't done this is as follows: I want to remake the entire list.
  • The new version (ETA: when it's done) will be an Excel sheet, so I can have different monster types on different tabs.
  • I want to add interesting and useful monster parameters where applicable (such as "set_no_fake_death" for example).
  • I want to remove duplicate scripts so the list is 'cleaner' and easier to read.

Obviously, such a project would take a lot of time, seeing as how MS:C has hundreds of unique monsters.
To try and make up for the delay, I put together a list of all the new stuff since JAN2010a. A lot of the information is copied from patch logs, so props to Thothie as well. Also note that I'm not sure on the in-game names of all monsters.

- This is buggy as hell though. It wont take dmgmulti/hpmulti, and I don't think it's even starting at level 3 (fully grown, poison spore tossing tree). I, however, just finished making a new one with all three models merged (so it doesn't have to do that repel bit when it grows/shrinks). Also switched the smaller projectiles to client side, as they are too fast to really dodge anyways (thus much less resource intensive). I'll replace the one on Deraliasewers with it next patch - maybe some of the swamp eyes as well, as I got a complaint about the lack of doom trees on the map. The new one should respond to level settings via add params, and should take dmgmulti/hpmulti settings and name changes, although I've yet to test that bit.

Beasties with the set_non_agro addparam don't seem to be calming down after getting kills, need to figure out what up with that too.

It makes really cool maps for you for years, then gets eaten by boars. :D

Actually, it doesn't work - predates Steam MSC. Think it was originally intended to be a one time on a map quest thing, that never got applied. Uses the old pet registration system, which destroys your character in a spectacular fashion, in addition to a model that isn't precached. Be less work to make it from scratch than attempt to fix it, but was planning to go with the hawk for the next pet. Crow might be more useful for an attack spell or special item effect, with its limited animation set.
