You should change the lodagond ones to demons, the normal bludgeons were not even supposed to be on this continent except for isolated populations in bloodrose.

Not that I care, as Bludgeons are not offical lore, but that castle flies around, so it'll pick up bludgeons from wherever it darn well pleases.

This elemental system calls for a B patch. After HOURS of multi-player DS testing, it was fine, now, it fubars. I've no more ways to test this, so I suspect I'll have to start over from scratch with some new method.

edit: I r being beaconed away, but I've stuck a bit on the ultra-beta servers that attempts to make the element system work by adding a delay to prevent possible overstack when multiple items register elements at the same time. Give me a heads up if this resolves the issue at all.

Sorry for that ... it was like 8am or so and i was only up to check out new beta ... then I suddenly was knocked out by tiredness and felt not able to get up again to shut down anything o0

Patch looks great. These are the kind of patches I prefer; lots of bug fixes and optimizations. Great work by all.

Yea it's now the 5th charge and it does the same damage as the old 6th but costs 30 mana.
Kinda fair imo :wink:.

There was never supposed to be a sixth charge. What was happening is that all swords have a default secondary charge of double damage, and somehow that was stacking onto the charges this weapon had, rather than being overriden.

It confused me for awhile, as I assumed you were all counting the non-charged attack as a charge level.

I wouldn't have realized this, save that J-M put together that table with boar's deaths at various charge levels, and as a result, sure enough, charge #2 was stronger than charge #3, due to the extra standard charge slipping in there.

i made it , it was supposed to be an elf warrior guarding the entrance to Melanion in Bloodrose, heh nice to see its used.

Cool!!!

(Speaking of that can you make a variant of a normal halflife tentacle that uses scripts and can only be killed by triggers?)

I encoutered gayness doing lodagond. Heres what happened:
1. The boss's sword throw locks onto you passing through everything hitting you for either a 50 or 100 about 1-6 times.
2. The little ice dude's are like 10 times stronger.
Thats about it.

Nice work on the DS though

Nope, same as evah. Actually, they should be easier to deal with now, since you can actually avoid them without teleporting out. However, if yer playing on a server without the g.forest patch, the resistances may screw up, so yer cold resistance, if any, becomes worthless. (Same with your lightning resistance vs. Sorc)

No intention of doing anything with them, but hoping to get around to a room re-design for Lodagond-1, and fix that ->look bug, then put out a B patch, and get to work on sfor/nm_sfor.

Thothie, could you please write scripts for the following monsters for the next patch/betapack, if you have time:
Greater fire elemental
Elder fire elemental
Elder ice elemental
Earth elemental
Greater earth elemental
Elder earth elemental
Air elemental
Greater air elemental
Elder air elemental

These monsters, along with the currently existing elementals, would fit perfectly in the best map ever. Hopefully Rickler agrees with me :mrgreen:

Gosh, I thought you hated those types of monsters? ;)

Eh, part of the problem is that they are, essentially, spell flingers, so it takes quite a bit of effort to make them.

I was going to rig up a g.lightning elemental for Rickler, as it looked as though he tried to use one of the lightning djinn’s elemental escorts as a final nasty boss for the room (monsters/elemental_air0). Buggers only have a handful of HP, and a weak lightning attack, so they drop like flies.

Elder elementals are high-level boss-types, and they can summon lesser variants of themselves, so they are particularly time consuming.

I’ve ideas on how to whip up the lightning elemental Rickler may want in a hurry, but beyond that, right now, my priorities are to fix the monster->look bug and get to work on sfor/nm_sfor for the Shard of Felewyn. Plus it’ll take me a long ass time to integrate the viewmodel consolidation if/when Orochi sends it to me, and that’ll be essential to that, edict reduction, and all future items (without it, there will basically be none.)

I may actually try to deligate out the viewmodel consolidation scripting alphabetically, and see if I can get MIB/Shuriken to help me on that, since they can both compile SC.DLL's to test with, if I can talk them into it. >_>
