Black screen question (Not answered in the sticky)

I've recently returned to ms because my friend and I were searching for something to do and I suggested ms and she was intrested in playing it. Anyway when I create a server I've had other people join, two of them in fact but she for some reason get's a black screen. Now she can create a server and play just fine. She can join my server and play on a multitude of other mods we've played. Are the ports required to be opened and the ms_ip required to be set for joining other's games? If not what could the problem be?

For joining other games, no. The only port you need open to join a MS game is the standard Half Life port (27015). If you can already play other Half Life games online, you should be able to play MS on someone else's server.

Yes, they did and she can get through once in awhile but most of the time either times out or black screen.



Yeah I had to move the kid under the black board and shorten the width of the picture to meet the requirements of the specialist forum. I have the original somewhere on photobucket though.
