Very nice, but I suggest making the map not stop like BAM! as seen in picture #2, because it kinda makes it look like we're up in the mountains or something. If you make walls that surround the edge of the brushes as seen in picture #3 it would look a lot better IMO. :)

Simply amazing. You have out done yourself. Looks fantastic and cannot wait until it's done.

Both the textures and the lighting is awesome
JM's skybox lighting thread is most helpful :)

That's the rear of the spawn area, it's backed right up to the void, so no more room :|

Knowing Rickler's work, it will be epic, awesome, and done in like... yesterday.

I seriously don't have words to describe how awesome that looks.

Okay wait, maybe I do; your mapping skills are on par with those of 3D-Mike and Adam Foster :oldshock:

I'm not really liking the part of the sand dunes. Where you could fall down to nothingness... But everything else looks good. My only suggestion would be for that part. Maybe make some more rock so if a player does look down there, it looks like it continues rather than stops for no reason.

Lodagond Series by Crow and Adam Foster
Adam Foster is the author of the one and only best single-player Half-Life map mankind has ever seen, Someplace Else. Parts of lodagond-2.bsp and lodagond-3.bsp consist of retextured parts of someplace_else.bsp, used with Foster's permission (hence the credits).
Adam Foster is also the author of the Half-Life 2 single-player mod (four maps, colossal in size, tremendous gameplay) MINERVA: Metastasis. This mod got the overall fifth place of the 2007 Mod of the Year awards and the first place in the single-player mod category.

3D-Mike is the author of (amongst other maps) the Specialist maps ts_dojo, ts_bikini and ts_greenhouse (the latter two ported from his Counter-Strike variants, cs_bikini and cs_greenhouse), the Counter-Strike maps de_747, de_predator and de_survivor. He also made dm_avalon for Valve's HL2DM mapping contest and he was the only one to receive the "noteworthy mention" for his fantastic efforts.

[/education]

I consider Adam Foster and 3D-Mike, along with the dude who made dod_forest, to be the best mappers on the planet.

Ah got it. Thanks for the lesson, teacher. My favourite half-life mapper I would say would have to be Neil Manke. I just love his work on USS Darkstar and They Hunger. (They Hunger is one of my favourite mods.)

For a map to be experienced to its fullest, the whole mod has to share a same style. Making an awesome map and put black-mesa stuff (weapons monsters, story) is downright stuff (directed to all the black-mesa mods out there)

My apologies to Rickler for yet another off-topic post, but I just had to add that I fully agree with Dridje; Neil Manke is ****ing awesome :oldshock:

Yeah, I somehow missed the bit where you added another chest. I balanced out the Sorc chest with the entire map in mind.
