Very stupid question.

This game looks like alot of fun, but I um...can't...figure out...how to....download it?

I downloaded the file "Master Sword Continued 1.0" but it doesnt have an exe or installer that I can see. Is that a patch for an older version I don't have, orrr what? Thanks in advance.

Ugh I messed up already, meant to put this in the support forum -_-

*seppuku*

EDIT:
Ok, well I downloaded the "MSC Betapack Installer - SEP 2007 B" and installed, but now what do I need to do? It won't show up on my steam list. Do I need to use the first download to update it somehow? None of the files are too informative as to their use.

Please someone help me out, this looks really fun and I have a loooong night ahead of me with nothing to do.

You have to download the latest betapack, and since it's updated every months, the latest is october (november should be released in a few days or hours).
Gotta install MS:C 1.0 first then the patch.
You gotta to restart steam for MS:C to show up in the list too.
You should also check out Thothie's site for custom maps and new betapacks at http://www.thothie.com/ms
And yes, the game is really fun and most of all, ADDICTIVE!

Ye need to download MSC 1.0 from Yonder Front Page. We've still not setup a reliable self-installer, so you gotta close Steam, find your Steam's half-life folder, and drop the contents of the 1.0 install into an MSC sub-folder.

Then you need to download the OCT2007a patch, from that same page, which does have a self-installer, and should install itself proper, assuming you have Steam installed properly.

Ahh ok I got it working.

Funny story, I posted as "Thoth" on the specialists forum, and someone there thought I was you and posted a link here. That's how I found it. I would have posted under my normal name, Thoth, but figured one is enough. :)

While I'm here, is there any way for me to keep my FN characters while playing on my own server, or does it have to be on an FN server?

You can request the password, and if blasto deems ye worthy, you will get a pm asking for your Steam ID, external ip adress, and charecter names.

Proper place would be http://www.msremake.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4670 here.

Then you will get the stuff you need with an explanation of how to use it. From there you can host your own server, wether it be public, private, or even lan, and can use your charecter(s).

Good luck mate.

Question.. To make it easier, can I make a auto-installer for MS:C??

I made a super installer that installed the MSC1.0 plus the latest beta pack and maps though no one seemed very interested in it. I could make another one I still have all the files.
