Sucks like a Dyson

Without any spoilers, I just completed the fshard quest and didn't get a shard from the boss. After he died there was nothing.
I don't want to get a rollback for this (ain't wasting a rollback on this weapon). I have two shards, and just wanted to get some space in my galat.

Could the quest be bugged, or have I dun goofed it?
