Server 14 port_suck1.wav?

So I was trying to join server 14 but it was forcing me to download sounds/ambience/port_suck1.wav. It would complete but then sit on the loading screen indefinitely. I made a 1 second clip of silence and put it in my msc folder but then it was making me download some alienpowernode sound. Does anyone have any idea why the servers randomly make you download sound effects? This isn't the first time this has happened, the last time the server seemed to have made up a file that didn't even exist and refused to let me in with no downloading from the server.

Coincidentally, the map (bloodshrine) also bugged out on the server and wouldn't open up the rotating archer room of doom too.

Also also it wanted me to download sound/sound/ambience/alien_powernode.wav what the fuck is up with this shit.

You transitioned to that server illegally, you need to start from server 1.

I dunno if changing sv_downloadurl to some active location would fix this. Used to use my host for this by default, but it's slow AF now. Not even sure if the RKS servers have it set, off hand. (Edit: Seems they do. I'll see about re-uploading everything there, but it'll take... Awhile. Guess I'll have to upload the HL1 default sounds/models too.)

Double post in hopes that RKS takes notice...

Ya know, the HL1 sound files (like port_suck1.wav) were already there... So... It may have something to do with the way my host interacts - maybe we should nix the sv_downloadurl from all the servers and see if that fixes it?

Where can I get these files? I'll put it up onto my hosting and see if that fixes it.

The servers should have them in their Valve subfolders (checks, yes they do)... But basically, models, sound, and maps, from both the MSC and Valve folders would have to be copied to the URL that sv_downloadurl was pointing to. (Though maybe skip the maps folder under Valve.)

It really shouldn't be doing what it's doing though - the client already has the files it's attempting to download, so I was thinking maybe simply nixing the sv_downloadurl cvar entirely might fix it.

Next time it happens, report back to this thread ya'll, so we'll know if that fixed it or not.
