Map Testing Thread

I thought it would be a good idea to make a thread like this so whenever a map needs to be tested a mapper can easily organize a group of people and a locked server.

What I have so far:
-2 people
-No server

I'll start the thread off.

* I need about 5 high level players to test a map with me.
* I also need a server that can accommodate us while we play it. (Server needs to have latest FN backup and I'll supply the server host with the map file and any other required materials to host it)
* Map will be tested at least 3 times.
* I want to test the map today but it depends how many people volunteer today and if we can find a server.

Please post if you want to apply and I'll pick who I deem suitable for the job. And no, I'm not giving DarkTide members priority.

I'd offer my server, but I'm not likely to be around until after midnight. :/

If ye get me the map ASAP, I can stick it on there, setup server-side chars via the FN archive, and password the server before I bail, giving you the rcon.

Any news on the test results? (In other words, can I close the server now?) I've not even looked at this map yet myself.

I can help, but probably not today (stupid-ass quantum mechanics). We also have quite a timezone difference so I'm not sure how practical this is :X

After playing the map three times I found some exploits that need to be fixed and I also have to finish 2 rooms and fix another. You'll have an updated version some time in the next few days.

I thought the jumping sequence was easy... It was the transporter to the tiny no-escape room with the three greater Mummified Warlords plus clerics on the other side that got me. ><

I was expecting something more sophisticated though... Like Red->Green->Blue, repeat, or some such... Not just all red. ;)

There was another jumping sequence involving a series of EXTREMELY unnatural looking rock pillars. It was very short but it just did not make sense. Then there was that pit you had to jump (again, god damn it) out of to get to a room filled with mummies, each of which you could either lame to death from the ledge there or just lure down the aforementioned pit because the map apparently had zero func_monsterclip entities. When I fled into the volume of water that's adjacent to the boss room, all the mummies followed me for a permanent swim...

And yeah... the tiny room thing... wow, even my level 75 got raped there =\
No offense, Dridje, but when thatlittleaznboi wanted me to test that map, it needed lots of work.

And I was kind of expecting a pretty looking... pyramid, seeing as how there's mummies everywhere and all that.
Meh, I guess I'm just spoiled because of how incomprehensibly beautiful shad_palace looks.

So don't take my criticism as too negative :wink:
I still think your gertenheld_forest/islesofdread2 idea of protecting some dude against waves of monsters was one of the most innovative ideas for a new map ever! Surely a lot better than the overdone "linear path of destruction through a map" concept.
I'm just not a big fan of jumping puzzles
and cleicert.

Littleazn didn't do anything useful to the map. I repeatedly told him he'd need to upadate/change the rooms but he never did.

@Thoth: I'm going to be busy for a few days so just hang in there.

Yeeeah, I dunno what Azn was thinking other than "I'll just lump a bunch of monsters in here and let them work it out."

I've *still* not had the chance to really test the map, but I went over it with BSP viewer, and it bares little resemblance to the last one edited up by Azn... Although it also seems to have been trimmed down quite a lot. :/
