Okay so I used Thothie's great guide to set up my own dedicated server. I got everything set up great, restarter works fine, ports forwarded, joinable by other people n all that good stuff.

Unfortunately the latency of me and everyone else is horrid. Is this because my PC sucks?

Help would be greatly appreciated =)

Thanks in advance,

~Nate

Are you joining your own server from the same computer?
If so, you can't do that, cause...Well...It lags for some reason. I'm sure it has something to do with how the CPU allocates the tasks of the ded and your client, as the only solution is to run the dedicated and your client on separate cores...Which you can't do unless you've a multiple core processor.

Oh...that's beat. I thought maybe if I switched the ports it might work.

Oh well. Guess I'll put up my server when I'm not playing xD. At least until I move and buy me a new PC with a quad core

Indeed. Quad-core ftw, by the way ;)
