HELP PROBLEMS WITH MY LISTEN SERVER

everytime some 1 tries to join my game they get this

"Retry data character connect..."

any 1 know whats wrong.... i need help

You're probably behind a router or firewall.

Windows Firewall does not block MS (I always have it enabled and people still join my server, like you yesterday) so I'm guessing you have the router-issue.



To say this short, MS needs ports 2200, 2400 and 47624 opened for the character data transferring. Also, if you're running a server on port 27015 (like my server, 10.0.0.166:27015) you need to open 27015. Click the link now, I wrote a whole guide on setting a server up.

I dunno, last time I delt with a linksys router, tossing it out the window solved the problem right-quick. Direct connect is sometimes the only connect.

hm and i need instructions on how to open ports this is confuseing 1 person tells me to do this and another tells me to do something else why isnt this mod like ts,cs,dm,ns where u dont have to open so many confuseing ports all of the servers that i play at have the same problem maby u guys should explain to us how to do it exactly
