Getting permission for use of a model.

I want to take one from the mod "Heart of Evil." Since Heart of Evil has their source available for download, does that mean I can just use a model from the mod without worrying or do I have to get in touch with them?

For safety's sake, I'd say try to contact them. If you can't get ahold of them, I think creditting the artist would be good enough.

Alrighty, I have a sent an email (I hope to the right address) Which said this.

Hello there. I am emailing this address in hopes that I can get in contact with one of
the Heart of Evil mod developers. I am making a map for a mod called "MasterSword
Continued" (http://www.msremake.com) and I would like to be able to use the model "them.mdl" for
my map. I wasn't sure if I could use it without asking since you guys released the source
for the mod so I just decided to email. I hope to hear back from one of the developers
sometime soon.
