Too many fire swords... Tempting to turn "Volcano Blade" into "Lightning Fork" ;)

My information.
I was thinking "dagger" upon seeing that too...

We could use some more daggers, with more power behind their hits too :D

well, the bone blade is pretty good - but the flame lick makes it look like a kids toy 8)

only problem with the flame lick/lava blade models is that the view model for first person is messed up - so you can see your back while you are holding it...kinda wierd...

whats wrong with them...?

maybe if you got some other models - like skeletons - and thier animations you could figure it out...

The monster has no proper run/walk animtaions.

PM Gaz, he gave you some advice on the subject... Somewherez...

Gaz said:
LX means that any movement in the animation by the model is used in determining the speed of the walk.

The movement of the model, is taken from the root bone of the skeleton.
An NPC model for HL1 should move forward in their walk animation, and on the last key frame, the position of the skeleton (the pose) needs to be the same.

This is how the engine figures out how fast the walk/run animations are in relation to the ground.

If you decompile a model, import its smd to milkshape and its animations walk on the spot, (when its qc has LX in) then the animation has been decompiled incorrectly, and recompiling will screw up the model

I don't think it's necessarily like that, because doesn't the script-system just play an animation for moving, and speed is set by the script? It wouldn't check that sort of thing, would it? I know it's true with regular models, but it may be different with MS:C scripting system.

No, base speed is determined by the models by default. I have to add something to make it any other way.

This monster just runs in place without me adding the fake movement system, as it has no proper movement anims.

For the most part, MSC monsters operate the same as HL1 monsters. Its the same core system.
