well for some reason every time i make my own server, sometimes it says Mod_extradata:caching failed and i dont know how to fix it. it is very annoying!

Welcome to the forums Zidane. Alas, I get that error too...there is a temp way to solve that problem mind you. You start your server on the map Edana first, then change the level to what map you want to play on. This method works for me most of the time.

Example: If you wanted to play on Heras and you keep getting that error, start the server on edana, then go into the console and type in the console "changelevel heras" (without the quotes, and to activate the console, press your ~ key."

If the solution which I have posted doesn't work, please tell me and I will try to help you some more.

P.S: I don't know if this would help at all but you could try deleting your clientregistry.blob file. (I'm pretty sure that's what the file is called)

well now that is solved for me but now i have another error that pops up at the same place as the last one. now it says Cache_UnlinkLRU: NULL link???

Well, that is an "interesting" error, since I've never had that before. For this error, I can only offer advice on what you should do until someone else steps up to the plate to answer you.

If I were you, I would do the following things.
1) Close steam.
2) Delete that "clientregistry.blob" file.
3) Restart the computer.
4) Open steam up again.
5) Try again.

So try those and reply in here to say if it helped at all. I'm in no hurry, so I'll be keeping my eye on this thread.

It is located in your Steam directory.
Example: C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam

If you can't find where it is, you can always do a search for the file and delete it when it pops up.

ok I did what you said but now it fixed the problem but went back to the mod cache error....

Alright. I don't know if this would help at all but....you could always try reinstalling the mod as a last resort. Wait until some other people have replied to your problem first though.

Until then, play on other servers.
