So recently, every single time I try to join a server, it crashes. I haven't done anything with the game files, and haven't changed any settings blah blah so on. Tried re-installing the mod from scratch but to no avail, any ideas?

I guess you are that one guy who afk'd in the character menu then this happened when you restarted your game... Does this happen before you select your character or does it happen when you pick your character? If you dont get to pick your character, don't know what the problem could be but if you pick your character and it crashes the server when loading, then your character got corrupted (try making a new one or ask for a rollback for the last time it worked for you).

Sounds like standard character overflow or corruption to me. I would suggest das rollback.

Corruption can do that... If you connect to a non-FN server or can create a listen server properly, it points to that.
Though, out oh curiosity, where does MSC go smash in the connection process? "Parsing Server Info", mayhaps? Does it lock, or go straight to desktop?

I believe its at parsing server info, yes. I can't really see it as all I get is the end of precaching resources and then I get "Connect failed: Server shutting down." The worst part is that when I try to join, it actually crashes the server for the players on it, so can you please try to reroll it or something like that? STEAM_0:1:11605095 and I got no idea, go for the closest date thats stored or something. Can you see like the last time I leveled a skill?

Eh, before we try the rollback, I fear ye maybe one of the victims of the new Steam update that causes buggers with IE due to its internal overlay.
Reboot. Start MSC before opening Internet Explorer (or other browser - or app that uses browser, other than Steam). See if go.

Oh, I read that wrong, you are getting past Parsing Info then... Jeeze... Only other things I can think to do, is to disable Bloom before you try to connect, in case a graphics card driver change has fubared it... And lastly, of course, a rollback... Which I suppose I midas well do now...
...or I would, but ya neglected to mention which slot... And if ya check the link I sent you, no, I can't tell when you last leveled or what not, it just keeps archives every few hours. :\

Well, for starters, you have no character in slot #1.
After some digging (and jumping over security hurdles), it turns out you do have one in slot #2.
Now, we don't want to roll you back to the last save, as that'd put you in same boat you're in now, so sadly, what we need to do, is get you to the one before that... And, by trial and error, the last one I can find before the 27th, is the 15th.... It is larger than your current though - so maybe you had more stuff at the time, IDK...
So that's done (and can be undone, if need be)... No promises though.
But if yer getting frozen while Parsing Server Info, early in the progress bar, it suggests the new Steam-overlay IE bug folks have been reporting on various HL mods. So IDK. A router issue could also cause that, I suppose, but seems unlikely.
