Unused elementals guarding a chest or area could be very nice for 20-30 :) .

In my opinion, it depends on the setting. Crystals would be good for places like caves and torches would be good in old areas like tombs/lairs.
I've always wondered, who is it who really goes around those tombs and stuff and lights all the torches? You see it in movies, in games and such. I don't think those skeletons or ghosts that just lie around on the ground and in until someone stumble upon them, wakes up now and then, goes outside to get some new wood and cloths to make sure all those torches are still burning.

Dungeon masters... Never seen, but often felt, all dungeon maintance is handled by the dreaded Dungeon Masters.

Particularly dangerous are Feng Shui Dungeon Masters, who often rearrange dungeons, and any player corpses they find laying about, for better Asiatic aesthetic appeal and to increase the flow of Chi – which makes monsters ever-more dangerous. “I put blue rocks in corner, to complete the cycle of spirit… No! What you thinking! No can have dragon sleeping with head facing north! Very bad for rluck!”

[/me waits to be killed by half a dozen asian ex girlfriends in his sleep.]

Well. My hard drive completely crashed today. Can't even install xp back onto it. All my works have been lost along with everything else. If someone could delete this thread for I haven't backed up any of my files. If I do get back to working on this map Ill create a new thread later on.

Sorry, I've learned my lesson. Time to go buy that external hard drive.

NOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooes!

Damn, we lose more maps that way.

Tell me when yer new rig is up, I can send yer LostCaverns source back to ye. (This is among the many reasons we require map sources before we can FN approve new maps.)

Been working alittle less on the map lately. Here is a screen shot from inside hammer.
CrayonsContLewl.jpg
A very big piece of the map cant be seen from the screenshot due to it being underground.

I plan for around...

3-4 "Mini" Dungeons
Lots of free open space.
1 "Major" Dungeon
Hidden name of that one sexy person. ;]

It's also gonna lag like hell, because Half-life will try to render that entire maze and everything in it with every frame.

Sadly Source has some similar limitations, although there's more ways to work around them.

I did a test compile and it doesn't lag to me. I made sure that there were walls in the way of sight so the frame rate won't go down. I'll have to get a bunch of people together to test it on a non-FN server and see if anyone else gets any problems.

Walls only count if they go from floor to ceiling, though.

I have set a release date for myself which would be the 27th of Jan if not ealier.

I'm almost done with the layout ( 2-3 more sessions will finish it )
need to add the monsters ( still not sure what type to put in.. I'm looking for a set of monsters that are within the 20-30 lvl range whom give good exp )

2 chests are placed in map. Hoping to get them filled with useful stuff, kinda like Ara chests. Maybe one with pots and one with arrows/bolts. Not really my choice.

Playtest with people I know... Then release :D

P.S. Dont hate me if I over shoot release date ;]
