Are the servers down, is my client outdated or is there a bug I'm not aware of?

I downloaded the main installer from the website and the patcher. It's fun to play alone but only so fun..

Do you have any of the server browser filters activated? If you got the installer and patcher from here I wouldn't be able to think of any other problem.

I'm able to see servers. You've made no edits to any of the files after the game was installed? Where did it install to? I remember when steam pipe came out it caused some issues, but that was a while ago. You can also try to use the "connect" console command to see if you're able to connect to servers regardless.
"connect 23.250.125.254:27017"
^ That will try to connect you to RKSzone.com | US Los Angeles | MSC Server 06 | [FN]

The Steam server browser doesn't show MS:C servers.

MS:C's in-game server browser does show MS:C servers. They seem to be showing up for me. Maybe you indeed have some strict filters said up, as Kanta said?

At any rate, try adding the following servers to favorites:
149.56.144.174:27015
149.56.144.174:27016
149.56.144.174:27017
23.250.125.254:27015
23.250.125.254:27016
23.250.125.254:27017
149.202.132.223:27015
149.202.132.223:27016
149.202.132.223:27017
149.202.132.223:27018
95.172.92.163:27019
95.172.92.163:27021
95.172.92.163:27022
95.172.92.163:27023
95.172.92.163:27024

Another thing you should try is this: Start MS:C, start your own server, open the console and then type date. Copy+paste the output.

I get this:
Code:
] date
SC.DLL date DEVELOPER Sun 11/22/2015 14:50:05.57 MS.DLL version NOV2015a

Thanks guys, I've only downloaded the client and placed it inside my half life folder. With the updater. But I will mess around with some ideas to try and fix. And try the IP's to direct connect!

Do the 'date' thing. I have a feeling you didn't install the mod correctly.

I used the 2 downloads from this website. First the main installer, installed that to half life 1 folder in steamapps. Then used the updater and placed the files into the folder created for MS

Yes, you said that.

Now start MS:C, start your own server, open the console once you're in-game (do this by pressing the ~ key), then type date and then copy+paste exactly what the output is.

OK, that seems right. Have you managed to find servers yet? If no, can you upload a screenshot of MS:C's in-game server browser?

Just add the servers to favorites and you are good to go. Sometimes the steam browser goes derp and shows nothing at all, the ingame browser shows the servers most of the time, with a very small chance of also going derp. Having them added to favorites, makes them visible always on the favorites tab.

This is what i always do with any server i want to keep track of.

Server is running game msc. Restart in that game to connect.

Hrmmm... Is said folder still called "msc"? If you changed the name of the folder during install, Steam will get confused.

Should be:
%your_steam_path%\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\msc

Talk about eliminating all other possibilities... Glad we could help.

Keep in mind this is true for most HL1 multi-player games and Source mods.
