Sound editing

Well, I've shown some interest in editing sounds, only thing I can't do is make one from scratch (at this point). If anyone has any tips, I could try to make some samples for something.

Making sounds from scratch is a process of recording the real world and then changing it.

For example, the blasters in Star Wars (the original three, that is) are, I believe, long steel cables being struck. The sound was edited a lot.

Lanethan, in Con's Sneak Preview those songs are absolutely sweet! You made those, right? I have to say, they're a long stride up from those midis you wrote for MS. :D Excellent work! It sounded like a mix between LOTR, and Diablo II at points, I loved it! I can't wait to hear the rest of the stuff you did for MS:C!



Oh, and Sabre, check out Troy: Divine Playground for a pretty cool sound editing video. It shows how they come up with good ideas for different sound effects and record them, etc. It also looks like a pretty cool mod I might add. :D
