Newbie Mapoer

I have just started learning to map and there are a few things that i had trouble with but reading the forums has helped a great bit. I also heard there are YTest Characters to test on a map...Where do i get one from? This map i am in middle of if it works isnt going to be easy and i need to know what warnings to use....So i need a better test character than a newly created one...Ty

1) Cornholio, that link is not supposed to be public.
2) Those are the [FN] archives, not the test characters.

Easiest method probably to rename character "MAP_TEST_CHAR" and use LAN mode. (Remember sv_lan 1 must be set in listenserver.cfg, and you must restart server for it to take effect.)

Master of redundancy that I am:

1. Drop it into your half-life folder. (Or dive into the archive's SAVE folder, and toss the files into your own)

2. Add sv_lan 1 to msc/listenserver.cfg

3. Launch MSC, type "name MAP_TEST_CHAR" in console

4. Type "map char_recover" in console, select the center character.

5. Type "changelevel <yourmapname>" in console.
