Maldora waiting time

Just soloed lodagond-4 using just about every potion in the game.

Maldora. I got his HP bar empty in less than one minute, but since he was holding the wrong tomahawk, I didn't deliver the final blow.

After ten (10) minutes of waiting, he finally switched to a dark tomahawk. When he did that, I killed him within one second (not even exaggerating).

The math:
1 minute gameplay
10 minutes waiting
11 minutes total

I spent 10/11, or 90.9% of my time, waiting in the bossroom for the right tomahawk. This should really change tbh. The tomahawk changes should be on a cycle, comparable to the chromatic vest. Something like fire --> ice --> lightning --> venom --> dark --> repeat cycle.

Somewhere over the rainbow.
Between trudging through the first three maps, the crystal defense and the infuriating lightning clouds, this innocent little tomahawk color waiting game still manages to be the most frustrating part of the quest (though not by much, the clouds are a bit of a chore.)

Lodagond-1 honestly, in my opinion, feels pretty solid by itself. As part of the overall gauntlet however I feel it is diluted a bit, as you're immediately whisked away to the 2nd and 3rd map which feel like filler, with 2 feeling.. well, like not much, and 3 looking like it had a few small map snippets stitched together with some lore scribbled on. The fourth map, again not so bad on its own, but a pretty big slap in the face for any on-level players that manage to slowly work through the first three to learn they stand no chance on the fourth. I think 3 and 4 on their own would make a pretty nice series, but that's me rambling.

This is sort of a suggestion on its own but it's topical enough that I'll throw it here: I'd like to see the tomahawk colors separated and re-distributed throughout other maps, if for nothing more than to encourage / get to play something other than Lodagond meaningfully. Obviously I can do that afterward (not before, I tried) but that becomes sightseeing and is ultimately less satisfying than progression especially after having been put through the tomahawk grinder for as long as it takes to roll the amount of tomahawks for all the forge weapons. As well it would be neat to see them reskinned to a flavor item as the tomahawks themselves are ugly and pretty useless as weapons go.

Well tomahawks are essentially forge ingredients, they serve very little purpose outside of that, similiar to crescent blades, except those aren't ingredients (yet  ). Reskinning them, might not be a bad idea, their looks was never appealing to me, but it also did not bother me. I did enjoy the colour scheme used on them, despite being simplistic.

Would be nice to see an upgraded tomahawk that is actually useful in the current meta. Buffing each of the tomahawks is likely not going to cut it in the end, of course i could be wrong. Dual wielding axes would be something nifty/refreshing i must say. Samething with dual hammers. Blood blades are okayish as dual wielding swords, they can easily replace unholy blade, would be nice to see similiar options for more skills down the road. (It is yet another idea to keep in mind in the long run)

Two of the five tomahawks actually do appear in other maps. I can't explicitely say which ones, or where (due to the strict anti-spoiler policy*), but let's just say that the two tomahawks that aren't required for any forge items at all are the ones that spawn outside of Lodagond. Go figure...

*This policy makes it genuinely impossible to accurately determine which reward(s) from NPCs/chests are working as intended, though...

There's an item tracker log FN side, which includes items traded between players as well as chests/NPCs, used for gathering general statistics. Server logs also handle artifacts and item trades (also occasionally used in drama resolution, as there's more details there, and FNwrite sometimes leaves some garbage).

Granted, the spoiler policy was in place before I got here - and I've let it be fudged quite a bit, sadly, occasionally having to go back and edit my own posts.
