Latest trade didn't save?

So Gandalf and I did a temporary swap, his envenomed armour for my bludgeon and acid armour. We each waited long enough but when I switched servers it didn't save and now his armour is gone. :/

Should I be worried if it didn't save on my end? This my first time experiencing this problem.

Yes, but I always do that. It sounds too much like an inconvenience to shut down the game constantly.
