Hi all,

This is my second post on the forums so bear with me :)

Ive been a fan of mastersword since the very first release, but i have never really played online because I just LAN with my brother, known as Hawkins, (you may have heard of him hes an old MS forum junkie)

Now we have both updated to JUL B or something along those lines, We have also used the map updater that came with it, and i don't seem to have any of the maps you guys are talking about... like some kind of ice area, and other strange areas that are known as OFFICIAL, so where can we find these maps?
I have also been in every area, and i don't seem to find anything better then an 'Elven Sword' 'Knights armor' or 'Longbow'
(I am a level 16 Shield Archer) - (Hawkins is a level 16 Knight).

Another thing is that i heard somewhere, that there will be a spawn rate decrease for playing with less people, and since i only play with my brother in a 2 player lan we could end up with problems. Maybe this is why we only find crap items?

One more thing is that there seems to be a limited number of quests? or maybe its just me not looking properly, and can someone tell me if there is an order we should play the maps in?

Thank you,

Sorry if i have been annoying to any of you with my questions!

for the approved maps, visit http://www.thothie.com/ms

i don't think there are any approved maps that aren't on that site...

as for better items at your level, if you're not gonna play on fuznet - i'd suggest leveling up a bit and taking on a few of the "gauntlet" style map series - they'll likely have something for you.

quests are rather limited as...once you've done it once, you can do it again - easily.

Fuznet is a universal server system, it has its own bonuses

with fuznet, people will be able to load thier characters on your server...and you'll be able to use the characters you make on fuznet on any other server using it.

Not possible. You could how ever make a listen server with a password and FN enabled, therefore making it "LAN."

LAN = Local Area Network ... ie. Computers hooked directly to one another and not through the internet - emphasis on Local (albiet, there are such things as tunneling/virtual lans and such, but we won't go into that). Suffice to say, LAN generally suggests a group of computers in your own home or office.

Fuznet is Internet only. Communication to the Fuznet server requires internet. Ergo, servers connected to Fuznet, must be on the internet.

Fuznet is a central character database server that allows all servers connect to it to share the same characters, thus, on any [FN] server you visit on the internet, your character will remain persistant.

LAN and Fuznet are mutually exclusive, as you must have an internet server to use Fuznet.

So there's no way to get my character made a long time ago on a LAN to Fuznet is there? I guess I don't mind starting over if that's the case..

Edit: Scratch that, I just found an elven bow for the first time ever. Maybe it's not so hopeless to grind all day long.

Ya level a hell of a lot faster playing on the NET than on the LAN, for you have more players to help you, both in terms of combatants, and in terms of giving advice. Plus more players = more bootie.

Well, I suppose it couldn't hurt none. Besides, I do get kind of lonely.. :?
