This didn't happen to me, but my friend. They can't select their character, and cannot make new ones. The character is grayed out. I had 'em reinstall msc, but to no avail, and yes, in the correct order. Any suggestions?
Grayed out character, can't create any more.

Make sure his half-life folder is located inside of his Common folder and not the old username folder that it used to be in.
