Is there any way to change the size of the text in the chat, it's cutting off the lower parts of longer letters like g, p and q, I can still read it, but it makes me feel illiterate

yes, the font size can be an issue at high resolutions, like in 1920x1080 it has a large text which can get cut off in the inventory screen for certain items with long names.

Well, some names get cut off in just about any resolution, but you can go to "msc\gfx\vgui\fonts" and try swapping TGA files of your resolution for another. There are more of these from your Half-Life GCF file and you can copy them over files in the MSC folder for more varieties of sizes (or from other mods). There's supposed to be a cvar to disable them, giving you the system font, but it doesn't seem to work. It seems instead you have to delete the font entries for your resolution. (System font tends to be ugly though.)

I'm rezzing this thread to share my experience here.

The MSC fonts didn't go above 1440 and I had to rename all of the 1440 files to 1680.

Everything else I tried did nothing, I guess it was running system font after all. This was with a HD 4890.

Even the HL GCF was missing 1680, maybe the next patch oughta contain a few more font resolutions. Shouldn't take too much time if all you have to do is duplicate the 1440 files and name them 1680

the font files(used the 1440 ones.) can look quite small at 1920x1080.
