you press 1 to see ur weapons then click to draw
you press 2 to see ur learned spells then click to prepare
you press 3 to see ur inventory
*you press 4 to see ur available health/mana potions and click to draw one!*

1 & 2 & 3 already work that way by default. ><

The rest you can do with quickslots (whip out quiver/spell book, hold function key). But I couldn't arrange a script command, as the item index# would be unique to each player.

It would be nice to actually be able to select arrow types though, no clue how it chooses myself.

*sigh* but that takes away the disadvantage of using scrolls instead of learned spells

You mean how it chooses which one is firing? It just goes for the closest arrow to the top. Whenever I want to use a specific arrow, I just put it into my Heavy Backpack (HB is higher on the list than my quiver) and it all works fine o_O

As for the quickslots, I think if you attached a quickslot to a spellbook, it would put it in your hands, not equip it.

i actually tried quickslotting scroll pages... it worked... somewhat, but i'm not doing it right now so yeah... prolly didn't work as well as i hoped...

BTW!
I noticed this was fixed to a degree in a recent patch.

When I shoot a spell or something, then use my quickslots to draw my shield and weapon SOMETIMES... well
firstly, I cannot attack but my weapon is in my active hand
i cannot put the weapon away
when i switch to my shield using alt, an attack animation is played except my active hand is locked on the shield and a weapon swing anim is played, cept it's the one for when the weapon is in the left hand, which it also appears to be.
during this well... event, I cannot put my shield or weapon away to heal/iceshield and have to right click to do damage.

In earlier patches, this bug would utterly screw me, and i usually had to reconnect or wait a long while before I could put my buggard weapon/shield away.

But now it goes away quite quickly... like while the shield is the active buggard hand i just bring it up and i am able to switch my weapon back to the active hand...

yup...

Good idea.

I personally hate to have to rummage through my inventory just to get at my insane amounts of health potions.

And I think the bows fire the arrows in the quiver that are the first on the list (first column up, to the left most)

Yeeeah. I know what arrows you get - I just don't know how the code goes about figuring it out. ;)

Careful of that, good way to get char deleted from overflow.

Still not gotten too far into experimenting with the healer's kit idea - you'd be able to quick-slot your healer's kit then... I still think the health potions are more intuitive though.

I *think* if you hold a quickslot button with the sheath/sack open, it'll give you that inventory next time you click it - but I r not sure.

...and yeah, you can't quickslot individual scrolls due to the exchange they use to work.

Um..yes you can..Or you at least USED to be able to do it.

1. Put scroll in hand (Via clicking scroll then clicking the Hands container)
2. Quickslot the scroll
3. Put scroll away
4. Use quickslot
5. CLICK (You must click and it "equips" the scroll - AKA makes it ready to fire)

its the same thing as a quick slot just easyier they'd all just be assigned to 1 quick slot.

That you can do - once.

But when you get the scroll back, it's item index changes - so the quickslot is no good afterwards.

I think a good idea would be to have i not only open the inventory but also close it.

oye, then why would anyone ever need to bother with tomes ever?
(bc advantage of tomes is that learned spells need to be quickslotted, disadvantages are that you can only know 8 *only 8 quickslot keys as well* and there is a chance for them to fail! ><)

Well, that, and you aren't likely to lose a memorized spell, as opposed to a scroll, which does that whole exchange thing, and thus have a habit of vanishing. Cast time is also less for memorized spells than for scrolls.

In anycase, there never was an intended avantage for scrolls or tomes, the advantages there are, are all results of engine limitations/bugs. ;)
