Why wouldn't you put an elephant in the Aluhandra desert? An elephant will also work perfectly in Jungle type settings, so it would work perfectly in the longroot jungle.Thothie said:<_<

Granted, the real elephant sitting in the room, that no one has dared to speak of - WTF are we going to put an elephant?

Now now, let's not get all sorts of weird ideas about ****ing up the best MS:C map ever created (aluhandra2).TheOysterHippopotami said:Why don't people think Aluhandra is the most obvious place for an elephant?

Elephants can *barely* survive in arid plains, like those in Africa - deserts are straight out. Only plains we have ATM, are Daragoth, but there's no room for an elephant there (largely because it's really a series of shallow valleys). Ya do get them in Jungles, of course, but, save for the tiny asian types, only as they travel between plains, for there ain't much room to move around and heard up for protection.
Maybe if we make the Thunderplains, or that dreaded Snakes on a Plain map , we'd have a place for them. (There's also the fact that Goldsrc hates wide open plains.)
Now if we had a Mammoth - we could stick that in ms_snow. (Granted, ms_snow is having some aethetic issues ATM - if you have the detail textures on, it turns into a dark gray valley, and if the bloom is on, well, let's just say the "polar bear in a snow storm" effect takes on a whole new dimension.)
Think we already covered our thorough and eternal lack of "netherworld". Albeit, netherworlds, by definition, don't support life - just dead souls. I'm sure this is yet another temporary crossing of terms though.

You spend waaaaay too much time on meaningless details like this. Really? The plains are called Ar'lyeth? Who fucking cares? How does that advance the story in any way whatsoever?a grassy plain known as Ar'lyeth

Everything I've read from you is 99.9% aesthetics, .1% story. You come up with fancy RPG-sounding names for towns, races, etc. You imagine a bunch of scenery in different 'worlds'. But aside from that, what is there? There is so much 'filler material' in your lore.
When writing a story, you should start with the message you want to convey, not the images you want to paint in the readers mind. You need to find a concept that transcends entertainment, something that applies to humanity, and then you need to build your story around that concept.
If you do this, and then you erase 99% of your story, you will be left with something meaningful. Right now, if we erase 99% of your lore, we are left with absolutely nothing. Because your lore has no foundation. It's just stuff that you think is 'cool'.
