Hey! another series in the making! What you have done so far looks wicked. (Im assumeing that the end result will not be in a grass box )
The floor looks light its floating a little off the ground.
So does that bench. And the stairs. Make a frame for the stairs it'll look way more sexy then planks stuck in the side of the wall.
I like how the stairs curve, and i wish my arches where that nice looking.
ooh nice design for the side frame on those benches, very sexy
Railway/staircase is looking more realistic, good. Make sure the end product has support beams that run verticle so it looks stable, but I'm sure you had that planned already. Making stuff for curved objects takes time
Just remember that this is the Half-Life engine, and those benches each will take off a good 3-5 fps each... The map is looking good however!
You should map for Half-Life 2, no restrictions and if you can make maps for that in Half-Life 1, man would they be sweet.
im going to make a bunch of over head architecture, i never see that kind of stuff on any other map ive played. some im trying to make it.
its more fantasy than realistic medieval times stuff. ex. floating peices of ground that are used as stairs.
Well, at least that stuff makes sense now.
I like your idea.
And now that you have that stuff outta the grass box it looks alot better, plus what you added looks great.
But... you have theses horrid little lines under your hanging foilage. That drives me nuts. You ogtta change the texture on the underside of that brush from whatever it is now to {invisable or maybe {blue
If thats not the case, then you may have to pull up the bottom or your brush a bit, because it might be showing the top part of the ivy at the bottom.
Ooo. I likey! Its lookin sweet.
2 things bug me, and one looks like you did it on purpose (not to bug me that is, but it does lol), and one looks like you just havent gotten to it yet.
1. Those lamps look floresent, rather then say, like they have a fire in them. If you're going for fantasy and magic and stuff, i dont think lightbulbs fit in. Now, i can easily accept the fact that they glow by magic and not fire. If thats the case, i guess try and change the look (to something less square) or color (to something not so white, or maybe not white at all. That should get rid of the floresent look. Do you know how to use wally? Its really easy, and you can edit all the textures you want in a snap).
2. The light under that arch looks like its coming from nowhere. Stick a hanging lamp under there or something.
i made the texture.. it is flourescent.
i dont know why. i know it doesnt fit in. but i think itll look freakin sweet with the finished product. and i never noticed the archway light thx
