This half life engine update has messed up all my favorite mods where the mouse response is laggy and sometimes won't work like with natural selection. How into fix?
• Close Steam
• Open your Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life folder (Can't find it? Use this.)
• Rename or delete the following folders: /platform/, /valve/, /gldrv/
• Download and run: http://www.thothie.com/msc_dev4/half-li ... EB2013.exe
• Re-open Steam
• Pray
If it works, it'll restore you to your previous functionality. If it doesn't, well, you can always verify Half-Life's integrity to undo it.
Beware, also, that sometimes Half-Life will update, and fux this up, even if you have updating disabled. In such cases, close Steam, and run the executable again (should be no need to rename the folders, or what not, again).
Before that, you may want to try:
• Adding "-nofbo" to the MSC launch options
• m_rawinput 1 in console
However, at best, this latter fix attempt will likely only get you temporary control of your mouse (until the next time you open your inventory or mod menu), and you will be unable to double click on said menus (which makes MSC's inventory, in particular, difficult to use). There are also various other issues, usually involving things such a increased texture errors, and massive FPS drops.
