It's that time coming up again. I'll be buying a bunch of games for the winners, and I'd like to know what games you'd guys like as prizes.

We will also be changing the contest a bit, now allowing mappers, modelers, and skinners to make great content for this mod and be rewarded for it.

That being said (details of the rules will be presented soon), let me know what types of games you want to have!

EDIT:

Already started buying some games, here's what we got in the game chest so far:

Counter Strike: Global Offensive
Orcs Must Die! 2
Legends of Grimrock (provided by Oyster)
Steam Community Beta Access (donated by Blasto)
BioShock (donated by Blasto)
The Ship - 2 Pack Gift (donated by Blasto)
Portal (donated by Blasto)
Natural Selection 2 Limited Edition (provided by Oyster)
Mass Effect 2
Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Episode 2
Terraria
Serious Sam HD Double Pack
Dota 2 Pass (x3)
Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon
Plain Sight
Cthulhu Saves the World & Breath of Death VII Double Pack
Zen Bound
Magicka
Batman Arkham City (provided by Thothie)
X3: Terran Conflict (donated by Avacado)
Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance (donated by Avacado)

What da fuk, i was planning on doing this by the end of the year with my first salary from switzerland. >_<

and i believe oyster was planning something too...

Meh, guess i'll donate money instead... You know, we need to find good places to advertise this event, it's a thing i won't be able to do this time, so it's mostly up to the people who check these forums regularly.

PS: Let's request AA games and make Redcell broke :wink:

So I'm planning on having a "game chest" where the winners can pick from games. If you'd like to donate games to the cause, it'll only be helping out MS:C.

And I'm sure we could advertise on ModDB if anyone still has access to the MS:C page.

Should pick a certain limit to deliver the final work done by a person, i was thinking by easter.

This is really weird, i was planning on doing this by the end of the year and you just started it yourself, i wonder if this has anything to do with oyster's contest o_O

Here's what i was planning on doing:
- pick a good group of people to judge the work done by a person, non-judges could still give their opinions and votes, but judges have the bigger impact on the final voting.
- open 5 entries for each section (maps, models/animation)
- reward each person with a different reward, example:
mappers: "finished" map worth 1st place, gets a good game reward, 2nd place and 3rd get better reward than people in 4th and 5th (equal for these last 2);
modellers/animators: finished work, same way as mappers, but the rewards would be of lesser value as i believe making models is easier than mapping

There are some minor rules to avoid abusing or related to other things:
- each person could make 2 entries on same section;
- based on the judges opinions, they would evaluate the work done as something "simple", "acceptable" or "complex";
- contest could get more "entry slots" if other people would donate to the cause;
- the rewards would be hand picked by the winners, obviously (there's nothing better than help someone get a game they can't afford in exchange for a piece of work, it's like doing the neighbour's lawn for a few bucks)

Rewards value i was thinking a few weeks ago:
//mappers
1st) any game, or pack of games, or steam cart rigged with games up to 50€
2nd) samething, but 37.5€
3rd) same bla bla, 25€
4th/5th) and again, 12.5€ for each

//modellers
1st) 30€ in games
2nd) 22.5€ ...
3rd) 15€ ...
4th/5th) 7.5€ each ...

I'm pretty sure if you guys do this, more people will come, "buying" random gifts isn't the best option to lure in people, since most of them will be looking for certain titles to play/try out.

Already have the dates picked out. And no, it didn't have anything to do with oyster's contest, this is the 2nd one I've done so far and I knew I needed to post it early since new positions were opening up. Even ask Thothie and the RiP clan, I've been planing this way before I saw oyster's contest. None the less, we are working together to make this a great contest, rather than having multiple ones.

Oyster and myself are already working out the rules and regulations. As much as I'd like to donate that kind of money to the cause, I personally can't do that. I'm just going to be buying lots of games to choose from and hopefully they find something they want. Also, they can RECOMMEND to me what games they want (hence this thread) so they can work towards something they want.

If you want to help out with this contest, just let us know. The more the merrier.

EDIT: New games added!

DOUBLE EDIT: New games donated by Avacado! The list keeps on growing!

Oh my gosh, Echo717 seriously shot at me, so I'll guess I have to participate ...
More or less, at least I can try in either mapping or skinning, maybe both...
It's all depending on my apprenticeship schedule... pretty much working all day... long..

Just a heads up, the contest is underway and can be found in the new "Media Contest" sub-forum.
