It's quite useful, just not for combat. It's "so expensive" because most all other scrolls or tomes that you buy are "newb" spells.

i saw something like 4000 for a glow scroll...

Seems those scrolls are coming out a bit higher than they did on the test saleslman. :| Glow should be like 500, max. (Sales randomizer)

edit: Damn script says value 50... So it should be 100, max. >< I dunno wtf is going on with that.
