Hey guys, heres my second attempt at MS:C Mapping. The map is called "Isle" (A play off of island1 which was, imo, poorly constructed, so I decided to make an island worth playing) also: mid/low level range

I guess the map is short (longer than Chapel though), but I still have 50% of it left to do. There are two main 'quests' and a mini quest. (quests as in path to a treasure chest.) One is through the mountainous regions of the map and the other through a dark cave! :F Here are some old screenshots (I'll be uploading some newer ones in awhile.) These I actually took and photoshopped a long time ago (hence the bloom fx) in the future ones ill skip the photoshopping part so you can see what it actually looks like.

Looks nice, thought the in last ones it's hard to see whats going on.

2 suggestions.

It seems very wide open, and for hl1 that sometimes causes lag problems. Add more rock/cliff dealys.

Also, add some more models. trees, bushes... w/e tickles your fancy.

The cave looks a tad blocky.
And what Crow said; be sure you don't get ass lag because of all the open areas. You handled chapel perfectly (and it's still one of the best looking MS: C maps ever made) so be sure to work your magic on this map as well. And yeah, more models.

Excuse me, Oedipus wasn't finished making this, he got bored supposidly and his maps are sometimes like this until he finishes the areas of... It wasn't poorly constructed at all it was incomplete. :p

Which is worse than a poorly constructed map.

Imcomplete isn't as bad as a bad structure you could be working on something good and stop it, it would be imcomplete but not a bad structure.

TBH I never even sent that map to anyone or uploaded it and it had a lot more work done on it before I stopped working on it, had it not been for someone joining my listenserver at some point and then passing it one noone would have it. Also it dosnt help when someone claims they made it and starts giving it out to evryone :p.
Keep up the good work and finnish it!

more like Photoshop semi de-saturation :)

There are some blocky parts and I'll try and go through and smoothen things out when I have the main parts of the map done.

Those shots above were pretty old. I have some newer content but I don't really want to show it else show off the boss rooms, etc.

I've done nothing wrong at all (cept spamming). At least I don't spam 50 million images to annoy all of you.

More hate hate me = less production on nearly done map. Simple as.

Pimpsta didn't have a "nearly done map." He had a whole bunch of empty hollowed boxes.

Bump: CSS, where'd you go? This map was looking great, I really enjoyed Chapel, I hated to see this just... go away :\
