Right now, it sits at 362 verts and I don't expect it to jump much with the arrow added in

I sort of based it on Vomica's model and then a european crossbow, it comes out to be a interesting blend I guess

I'll model an arrow, unwrap it, and then animate it

You should also add a new animation to the third person view instead of using the bow and arrow animation.

I'll look into making a few custom player animations for it, see what I can do

It looks good, but I don't think it looks particularly HEAVY ;-)

Here's a thought(I know you're already done with the actual modeling, but hey)

Back in the day, some crossbows pulled their strings so taut, that they were fitted with a 'stirrup,' so that you could step on it and use your body weight to help draw the bowstring back.

Like so:

Adding that, along with a longer reloading time, will give the player the illusion that you have to draw that sonb!tch back to combat-ready using your leg...Plus it will eliminate the need for a complex reloading anim ;)

Yes, there will be no hard animations involved in that reloading...

....For first person.

Animation is my best skill anyway, I plan to make a set of good looking anims :p

and I just had a good idea where he sticks his foot up into the stirrup (while it's still in view) and you get a nice scene of him pulling it back on his foot like hes a badass

...but i wont do that

Crossbow Shoot Animation

Also MIB, how heavy of a crossbow do you want? Something that launches javelins or something? :p I thought about making a repeating crossbow (in the eastern style) but it didn't feel very medieval, and the other heavy crossbow I found was basically like this, a large block of wood with string and firing mechanism.

If animating is your best skill...There's also that quarterstaff in the WIP thread. Thothie'll be creaming himself over someone actually finishing stuff on that thread :oldlol:

Beautiful, but it's much too quick. It should look like the player is straining to reload it.

Reload looks fine to me, only thing I'd say is I'd hoped the Heavy Crossbow would have a capital H - ie. take a fair amount of the view screen, but I'll take what I can get.

Simple as scaling up the model ;)
Now script it so that we can nail Maldora to the wall with it. xD

Because we still need models for MS:C, and the faith in the production of MS:S is dropping, and has been, since the devs decided not to show us any progress, we're lead to believe there's none at all. ;)

Not that I don't appreciate the work you're doing for MS:S, but a lot of people are starting to believe it won't leave the ground.

owww,i see,
In fact,i was asking myself why nobody show there works...maybe because am the only one making somes :D .
In reality i think there some work back.I dont know exactly, ask tothie maybe? He is a great coder and i dont know if he is always on ms:c or if he is looking toward:mss.

I dont think half life have any future.SO does it really care to make models for a dead mod?

Thothie has nothing to do with MS:S, and is mostly a scripter, anyway.
