Elven Shortsword

hey guys... well i first would like to introduce myself... im not a new player.. just new to the forum... well straight to the topic.



I went to the thornlands and deafeated the big spider... and i went to the chest and i saw the elven shortsword and said.. well that looks good.. so i picked it up.. and it didnt come in my hand.



and i was wondering.. "Man this must be a hardcore bug".

so i do the usual thing i do... i remove my backpack and sack then drop em.. then pick back up. i pick the backpack up safely.. but when i try to pick up my sack.. it quits out of the game and deletes my char..

well is there any way to get the elven shortsword without gettin ur char deleted? Cheers

Yes





Backup your character. The character deletion bug is common, and isn't directly tied to the ESS.





And probably, you didn't have enough gold to get it out of the chest



Due to a dumb bug, you have to pay the chest as if it were a merchant....yeah seriously...wtf

I don't remember how much it costed. I only know some items costed money to remove from chests. ESS might have been one or not. It could've been in your backpack, it just crashed before you could check. We may never know

Yeah same thing happened to me with the flamming arrow man i wanted that bad cause im a archer and i know it wasnt money. i have over 100k in money

yeh its a big bug that prevents u from getting the flaming arrows . Hopefully fixed in next verision

I just got ESS, costed $20000. I wanted it so bad, I would go back to try and get it after every thousand I gained! It gave it to me at $20000.

actually, I can't help you. A very sad event happened last night, my character got deleted. So passes Faradin the Great Archer who also had the ESS. Alas... I knew him well... I have now lost all interest in the ESS. Ima just be a normal archer now. (it'll probably be less buggy anyway.)

Using cheat maps is looked down apon.

You don't need a cheat map to get it for free. You can actually get the ESS from the chest in the spider pit in Thornlands occasionally. I've gotten it there twice before.

but you have to buy it from that chest, thats what they are talking about, to get it for free you would have to find it laying on the ground, so that means cheatmap

Not from that chest. There are two chests you can get the ESS. The one in mscaves you need to spend money to get, the one in Thornlands doesn't need any money.

whoever came up with the idea certain amount of gold to loot an item from a chest should be shot , just like the developer who came up with the kinetic damage for lightsabers in SWG when jedi were first released. I hope to god they shot him the head and pissed on his grave.

it was a scripting error, not like they intentionally did that.

Basically, I think they copied a line from a store script for Knight Armor, which randomly appears in stores, and forgot to remove the gold value.

lol sounds like something i would do lol the elven short sword stinks in damage but it has a really nice appearance.
