I remember complaining about the annoyance of trainig magic and Thothie said that magic was not designed to live on only. Now, I am training small arms and my skill goes up the sky like a rocket.

Now, if magic is kinda useless and is only a support thing, why not remove the spell from the "class choice" upon charakter creation? That would help preventing confuses and frustration.

There's advantages to starting with magic - gives you more money to work with starting on, for one thing - those scrolls are expensive on the lower level budget.

But the same can be said of all the weapons. The games setup so you don't live on any one of them.

My information.
The suggestion to remove the starters spell is RETARDED!

Just because you have an issue understanding how to level up SC, and you aren't patient, doesn't mean such a nice feature should be murdered by your nasty little daggers :p

Now, if you'd suggested something like, "Starting with all level one spells", instead... that that'd be a lot cooler :)

at least a spellbook with firedart, erratic, and maybe frostbolt scrolls...

or the tomes... (they can get forgetfullness pots later, not like anyone ever uses em regularly)

I'd say the mage should start with a spell book and a SCROLL of erratic lightning. Don't give them firedart or frostbolt, make 'em work for it.

Netrogor, there's nothing about impatience. SC skill raises much slower, than a weapon skill. Look, in SC you have 7 partial skills and killing enemies, you train only one at once. About weapon skills, you have 3 partial skills and they all go up at the same time! I can tell you for sure, that getting SA 8 took me about the thirdth of a time that took me to get SC 8 (or even less).

Can your bone blade or PFCK shoot across the level and damage multiple enemies? Can it make them run away while you sit and heal?
