I'm sorry Thothie, but this is total bullshit . I've dealt with a lot of instability these past 8 months but this shit takes the cake. We've tried, or rather, wasted a few hours on this crap with nothing to show for it. We've had the game kicking almost the entire server, which happened often, and one person leaving near the end !!!Fuck you Jordy of Urdual!!! which left us with firemaces or we've had the map break early on which screwed another run up.

It's practically impossible to find 7 players who are strong enough and can actually stay available long enough for farming.
It's practically impossible to have a server successfully hold 7+ players. Way too laggy, and it messes up the boss sequence, and probably a lot of other shit.
Sorry Rehab, but we hate your first map. :oldangry:
Player requirement should be 5-6 at most.

I'm so frustrated I could save money by not going to a hair stylist. (Just think about it for a second)

I agree with this, after spending hours of my time trying to find a way to spawn what i was looking for, it actually spawned today on non FN when i was testing. So doing the samething in FN is quite alot different, having that many players in a server to make X item drop is just difficult. I just wasted about 3 hours of my life doing 3 fail runs on orc_for with 7 players, many issues occur when there are 6 players or more on the server, playing on certain maps.
Also when there are 7 players in some maps like this one, if everyone decides to help the server crashes, so the way to work things out is having 2 or 3 players clean the map while the leftover stays in spawn waiting... which is a boring thing to do.

The issues are as follow:
-Massive kicks happens when someone overflows/disconnects/rejoins in the middle of a run, making everything doomed for the rest of the run (this usually happens with 4 players or more in the server);
-Massive lag issues (causes the boss scene to glitch up and not going further), causes many other lag problems, like slow reaction time when using our characters or the chat becomes laggy;

I think this is all i have to say. I think this map needs a re-adjust here and there in order to make it even possible to farm with a bigger group of players...

This map needs to be run with the num_edicts flag to get over 5-6 without it crashing with the no free edicts error, actually most maps need that set to hold more then about 5-6 people without it crashing... You also need a "very" fast cpu for it not to lag badly server side(generally, like in enemy spawning, won't help with the chat bugs.) on maps like these, the is one of the most cpu intensive mods server side that I know of.

Also if you use the num_edicts flag on the server, all clients need to use it too, or they will disconnect when the entity index number goes above what the client would normally handle.

Well, best server that i know off, that can hold most players without crashing is Joe's... Even RKS doesn't hold long with 7 players on that map, tested it earlier today too and it crashed when someone overflowded and reconnected. So the majority of servers aren't even adequated to the map, in order to get what people want, except for 1 single server. So we need to rely on Joe to host for us, and then bother a few more people to join and help us raise playercount and totalhp, which is another issue since there aren't many people around to do this.

Well mine should be one of the fastest in the mods server base, the core i7 2600k cpu I have in my comp is one of the fastest you can get other then the really really expensive high clock rate xeon cpu's(ones that cost like 1-2k dollars.), for this mod it performs better if you have a high clock rate, mine is at 3.4 ghz with the ability to overclock to 4.4-4.6 ghz and being stable.

For joes server he might be using the num_edicts flag or using a high max player count with a set visible max, which also raises the number of available ent slots, but setting the maxplayers to high increases lag, can be by as much as 40-60% more lag(higher overall cpu usage too.) at 32 slots.

By the way they didn't even test this to know that it only spawns with 7 people... they got it once.... ONCE then decided to try it on fn right away... not like i was going to spawn anway it didnt the other times before you were there.

Nothing on orc_for requires more than 4000hp total (really 2000hp, although the odds don't get reasonable for one or two items until 4k). You can achieve that with a lot fewer than seven players.

You have to find at least seven chests, before anything unique will spawn, but you can do that with just one player.

...or is this all just some clever ruse to get more spoilerz out of Thothie?

Just ran a 7 person run on my server with the num_edicts set to 1500 and it ran without crashing and very little lag at a level 5 map.

I generally don't see anything good on the map with less then a few high level players, goes for pots and unique weapon spawns.

And there's a bit of a spawning problem in that map, if you have a lot of players, people tend to get stuck in spawn when others spawn and have to kill them selves to free others.

Yeah, seriously. Have you even tried praying to Red Cell for good SMASH? the blessing of SMASH will get you any item!

Well, probably didn't think much about it. But i thought u needed X players or more for each item to spawn, because i really never found what i wanted with 5 players in the map... >_< My bad i guess.
