1st Chest! Also: Spider boss. Tips?

This is somewhat spam posting-- so feel free to delete it. I just found my first chest, yay! But seriously....

Any tips for how to kill that god damn spider(s) guarding the chest in the thornlands?

yes... level up more levels, and get a group

Buttery those spiders are SUPREMELY weak -_-
Especially the nightmare_thornlands ones (even though there are more & of higher power-quality)

dont worry you will be able to kill them at around 10. maybe even lower

aw c'mon Netrogor, when the spitting attack was added I thought the spiders were rather difficult at a lower lvl :|

Think even level 10 might be a little low to solo the thornlands boss - ya'd probably get overwhelmed by the weee spiders, lest you had a true straight 10 on all yer stats and a good set of equipment.

Yea, well Thothie I was talking along those lines for people who level everything up pretty close together. My second character, Vivi, has Parry at 20 or something along those lines, 14 SC (as of today, FINALLY lvled up SC again), and 13 to every other *SKILL*

im lvl 11 assassin ... its extreamly easy for me... although the boss never comes.... i have an ice blade... and a training shield... oh and my archery is 4 ... lvl 11 swords, lvl 10 MA.

I dunno where you are playing that the boss never comes. If you have the map patches the damn spider should come every time you break her egg - seen her several times on my server - ain't seen her not show up since May or so.

Usually when I fight bosses, the spider boss shows up depending on the map... if I'm at nightmare_thornlands she'll come regardless of shattering the egg; normal thornlands and, of course, egg must break like glass
