Thanks everyone for the speedy replies in this. My friends and I have been wondering how it works for a while (we figured a shield might be what we lacked, so we picked one up), so it's good to know how it actually works. I would have chimed in to thank earlier but...I kind of dozed off ^^...

I'm curious, because I can never seem to get any experience in parry...well, ever. I generally use short swords, and haven't had a shield up until late. I also now have a folded steel blade, but never really gain xp for parrying. I guess what I'm asking is - how do you/how does parrying work?
