Haven't visited these boards in a while but @Himself told me about this thread.
Have yet to read the entire thing but from what I've seen thusfar: great job!
Quick question: what's your opinion of the original Ihotohr boss fight (the_wall)? Original as in: unmodified NOV2015a.
Some banger stuff.
Are you ****ing serious?
Rickler's renditions of edana and thornlands look OK, the other maps are "baby's first Source map". Play MINERVA: Metastasis, Mission Improbable and Research and Development to see what Source maps can (and should) really look like.
Hey man what are you doing? That picture you posted, where the moonlight eerily shines into the cave with the green crystal, looked really nice. You're giving up on this map? Why?
If you're making a map that contains any of the following, you should probably proceed:
a consistent theme, both in terms of visuals and monster layout
interactivity, such as puzzles (preferably more than just button pressing though)
free-roaming
alternative routes to the main objective
secrets...
@Thothie Setting User Path to ...\steamapps\common and creating a bogus file named half-life.gcf in ...\steamapps (renamed empty text file) does the trick.
HUMANSTEAK LIVES????
Also unless you enable developer commands and just outright spawn certain items (the ones that require more than one player to drop), you're out of luck I'm afraid.
