Why use a custom crest when there are plenty of great inactive ones?
(i.e. Blasto using the Pirate crest)

Mario created this topic because he wanted to get the answers to two questions: what do you need to make a guild, and who owns the Valor crest. There's only one problem: only Kuroneko and/or Thothie may answer.

1) Mario is in my guild, so I wonder what the hell he's doing
2) I made the "Ultimate Guilds Guide", so I think I should be the one answering the second question... or Mario should just go and check my guilds guide
3) Seriously, if he wants to ask two people a question, why not just PM them

I only recognize guilds if they start a thread in the Guild section and get 5 guild members to post in it. Then, as far as I'm concerned, you are "official", can submit a crest for the monthly update, and designate a guild head to distribute it.
