Very nice. Some questions, are those in game shots just using just diffuse shading and a normal map? And by in game do you mean (Source 1) ,SFM, Gmod and the like? If this mod is going to be for source 2 will that support pre-computed subsurface scattering? From what I have been reading that is ideal for skin textures.

Reference on method: GPU gems 3 http://http.developer.nvidia.com/GPUGems3/gpugems3_ch14.html

The real next step, however, is learning how to bone and animate it.

These videos are just creepy as all hell though. ;)

The models are in game in one of my test maps, it's got a diffuse, normal map and a phong exponent map. I don't know if source 2 will support subsurface scattering, it would be nice but at the moment it's really not that necessary.

I've spent a few days on animating, I know the basics well enough it just might take some time to get pro at it.

I thought it would be nice to be able to choose the color/pattern on your shirt when creating your character, so post some patterns you guys want to see because im about to start texturing this.

Be nice if it matched your armor, but I can't think of an easy way to do that without doing that lazy thing where your player model is your viewmodel, which tends to look like arse.

I know you don't have a texture yet. And the current one is just a placeholder. However you should really turn down the specularity on that. It makes the fabric so shiny as to look plastic.
