Hello

I often run my own server. Version 1.1.
I installed the "Spawn Anywhere Maps" patch. But it doesn't work on it.
People can't join in every map.

Do you have an idea of the reason?

Did you read the !readme.txt?

Check the dates on your BSP's - when were they last modified?

Yes I read the !readme_mapupdates.txt.

Check the dates on your BSP's - when were they last modified?
It depends of the map. By exemple :
mscave.bsp : 4 december 2005
mines.bsp : 14 december 2005
thornlands.bsp : 20 june 2006

I think that the maps are not edited by the patch.

If it was installed properly the modified dates would be the day you got the patch.

You stuck the patches in the map directory and ran the batch file, it gave you a little DOS window that said, what?

I am from Switzerland, my Windows is in french. So I don't think that you will understand. It say about that :

Updating maps...
The system can not execute the specified program"...
20% Complete...

But I think that I will give up for the moment... :(
Thanks for your help.

Hmmmm... I don't *think* French Windows would mess with the installer, but there's a chance. I suppose.

There are two third party software bits involved:
ripent
HLCSG

If French Windows has an issue with one of those, you might ask about it at:
http://www.zhlt.info

I'd link you up a package of BSP's, but it'd be very large, and the maps are updated quite often, so I couldn't do it for every update. If you're lucky, you might find a friend who'd be willing to do that for ya.

Meanwhile, I'd suggest playing on-line with the rest of us ^_^

EDIT:
I tweaked up the batch file so it generates a log:
map_update.log
This way you can look at said log and maybe figure which bits went wrong. (These ripent/HLCSG programs don't return errorlevels so the batch file can't react to errors from them)
Also fixed some old holdovers from previous versions of the updater. (Backups should work proper, and only happen once now.)
Clear your internet cache and re-download the file:

No, the french windows isn't the problem. But if post here the log, the errors and the logs are in french, so you won't understand the errors.

I redownloaded the patch, I ran the patch and I read the map_update.log. But it's useless, it just say that it copied the maps in the thothie_backup directory. Nothing more.

I want to play on others servers, but I can't. I am disconneted after about 10-30 seconds. It happen with all my HL1 mods.
It write this in the console:

I took French in high school. ^_^ (err... well... I have bablefish!)

You can search for "svc_deltapacketentities" on steampowered.com, but I've got no clue what that is myself.

Closest thing I can find is this: Steam Linky
