thought I would show what sfor and calruins would look like if stuck together in the same map. Yes its both maps solids all stuck together in one map.

My plan is to take the originals and augment them to be more source like, I have always been one for updated original levels vs making a new level and saying its the new of whatever map was in the original game.

its a big picture so to prevent stretching go: here

Now as one could see I have quite a bit of room to expand. How big the map is going to be is rather questionable while I would like to keep the feel it would make the map rather small. Though I don't want to do another epic map like Ailairium is turning into... I can't help myself the idea of a 3 level cave/mine network with changing paths each time you play just sounds like a great idea.

Could you throw challs in, or is the plan to make challs fucking huge? That's the map with THE most room for expansion, imo. Of course, you could also add stuff behind 'The Door,' as well as more into calruin. I trust you will make it awesome :D

SoCal RiP will take a roadtrip to the Bay Area, where we will grab Red Cell(Who is always pissed off and ready to kill someone), and drive up to Oregon.

they are the same program except for HL1 mapping you should use the older version of hammer, while for source its best to use the newest one.

anyway best not press my luck. Me thinks I will start mapping again.


one more thing regarding challs, I would have included that except the RMF doesn't exist for it. I was thinking of decompile however it would just thrash the level and make things even harder than they already are. So I might add it just to make the map bigger. However a mapper could go to town and make a very epic map to explore.

We shall see.

Seeing as how I can track down people in my city of over 1,000,000. I think it will pretty easy to find you out of 148,595. Don't under estimate me, or my drive for blood.

we have the source for sfor, though why would one want to fix the waterfall its more fun the way it is :wink:

Because it allows people to cheat? >_> At the very least you should make it so they can't get to the chest.

I will of course make it so you can't get the chest, I was going to use everyones ability to swim up the waterfall as a way to expand on the map.

I'm talking about MS:C sfor, not MS:S, though. Someone should fix it if you have the source >_>

A little off topic but...while we're talking about expanding maps...

We NEED something behind The Window in keledrosruins. Yes, I know there's something there but it amounts to nothing in its current form. I was thinking a sort of LSD themed wonderland. One with a rabbit hole. That you can go down. And find more drugs.
